Discretion

I am learning discretion.   It's never too late to learn something new, right?  Well I am getting better at this.

There are times when it's better to walk out of a room when a couple is about to start arguing so you don't get involved.  No one likes to be corrected or embarrassed in front of somebody.

There are times when you would love to say something but you know it would not be received the best way, so it's best to be quiet.

The Lord once highlighted the Bible verse, "without holiness no one will see the Lord."(Heb. 12:14)  As I pondered this verse and it's implications I heard the Lord whisper, "With greater and greater holiness, more and more people will see Me in you."  Wow!  That's a treasure to go after.  Talk about putting a huge carrot in front of this girl's nose.

As I asked the Lord how to walk in more holiness He showed me that walking in the fruit of the Spirit is walking in Holiness.

So...that's my thought for the day.

I am so happy to say that it is working.  I was helping at a wedding a few days ago and I wasn't doing anything in particular except taking pictures there.  Later, two people commented to the bride about the aurora around me. They felt strangely drawn to me for no apparent reason.

I know what it was.  It was Him shining through me.  To God be all the glory!  That really encouraged me to keep pressing on.

Let's pray:  "Lord you have a special plan for the person reading this and I know you want them to know about it. Please show them what to work on today in this season of their lives and show them how you are using them today.

Thank You Lord for encouragement today.  Thank You Lord that you will never leave us or forsake us.  Thank You that Your word is always true and we bind ourselves to your precious word and all your promises. Thank You Lord for the supernatural power in your word to bring each promise to pass in our lives as we meditate on them and declare them over our situations. Thank You Lord that Your revelation light will dawn on every situation we face as we ask You for your wisdom.  Thank You Lord for sweet fellowship with You today.  Thank You Lord that we always want more of you.  Thank You Lord for prompting us to pray in tongues more today and to sing more in tongues today. ( Acts. 15:32, Rom. 12:8, Heb. 13:5, John 17:17, 2Pet. 1:3-4,  Ps. 112:4, Deut. 29:29 1John 1:3, 1 Cor. 14:18,  Col. 3:16)

Thank You Lord for using us today... so much.  Thank You Lord for making our lives so worth living.  Thank You Lord for all the fruit our lives will bring You.  Thank You Lord for redeeming all our mistakes and turning them into blessings for us. (2Pet. 1:4-8, Rom. 8:28)
Amen!

You are blessed and highly favored by the greatest King of all, Jesus!

Last Weekend

I was helping a friend pack and move last weekend.  You know how it goes if it's happened to you.  You let everybody know  you are moving and you hear a litany of excuses, "My back is sore, I'm busy that day or I can't lift anything," to name a few.

Well after driving for 6 hours and then unloading a 29 ft Uhaul truck with three of people I was a bit sore.  The next day I should have been fine but I noticed that I was worse.  Wrong, my warning bells went off.  I started pleading the blood of Jesus over myself and speaking the word, "My youth is renewed like the eagle, He arms me with strength and power and makes my way perfect,  as my days are so shall my strength be."  The pain would abate for a bit then come back with a vengeance.

I knew I was getting some words of knowledge because I don't have achy joints, as a rule,  but the lady I was helping does on occasion.  So I started praying for her.  Then my knees started paining and I was thinking this is weird. I couldn't figure out who had the sore knee.

Well yesterday I finally determined to worship with the piano, despite all the distractions and see what the Lord had to say to me.  As I started worshiping I got clarity on some issues friends are facing and the Lord showed me how to pray for them.

Then life intruded and I had to help my son.  As I walked away,  I couldn't help but notice that my legs and joints were better.

Isn't that amazing?  I didn't even ask about my health, I was more concerned about a friend that got a bad report and some other friends that are facing tough issues in life.   Just goes to show you that we can never out give God.

I guess the moral of the story is, when you don't know what else to do, go praise and worship the Lord and ask Him.  He's promised that if we ask He will give us wisdom. (James 1:5)

Let me bless you now. "May you know His love that passes understanding today. May you know his support more than ever today.  May His revelatory light dawn on every tough situation you face today.  May the joy of His presence go with you today and may you know His peace that passes all understanding today.
I bless you today, in Jesus' Name!

Big hugs,
Brenda Gale.

P.S. Here is the link to an article I wrote about what to do in frustrating times. It will teach you how to get God's answers to your problems. Enjoy!

Challenging Old and Current Mindsets

It's amazing how much we carry from our childhood into our adult life.  As a child I was a student that did poorly in art classes at school.  D's and F's were common marks for me to receive for my assignments. I had a hard time drawing and easily believed what teachers and other students told me which was, "You are no good at art."

However God says differently.  This is the first painting I just completed.

It is sad that it took me almost 30 years to try painting again but it's good that I did it.  Some people never get over the biases and words that other people speak over them.

I have been a Christian now almost 30 years and Holy Spirit has been challenging me to think about myself differently the whole time.  It's a slow process because we have to renew our minds and learn to speak differently but it's well worth it. (Rom. 12:1-2, Prov. 18;21, Matt. 12:32-37) One glance at this painting tells you that.

We can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us.(Matt. 19:26)  All things means all things in my world. What does it mean in yours?

Can I encourage you to think outside the limitations that others have put on you?  May I encourage you to get your self-worth from Holy Spirit and not from men?  People fall in and out of love so easily but God's love is forever.

It's never too late to start.   It takes 21 days to form a new habit... at least that's what the pros say.

Let's pray:  Lord give us the courage to challenge old and current mindsets as You lead.  You the Creator (Holy Spirit) live inside of us and You will help us change into the likeness of Your son. We do have the mind of Christ (the anointed one and His anointing). We bind ourselves to the truth. Your word is truth.  We declare that no weapon formed against us, especially curses will stand and we cast down every evil imagination and negative word that has bound us.  We speak life over ourselves; spiritually, mentally, physically and financially.  We are a blessing everywhere we go and we abound in blessings.  Everything we put our hands to do prospers, in Jesus' name! Amen.

Thank You Lord that You wish above all things that we proper and be in health, even as our souls prosper. (3John 1: 2)
Have a great day with HIM!

For Parents of Teens

We have authority in our homes.  God has given us this authority and we must use it to protect our children, especially our teenagers.  It doesn't matter what they are doing at the moment, we still have authority if we do not become offended, hurt or bitter.  That doesn't mean we use a megaphone, however tempting that might be at times!

Let's pray before we go on. "Thank You Lord that when we train up  our children in the way they should go, when they are old, they will not depart from it (ref. Prov. 22:6). Give us teachable hearts right now to hear and understand your word and may we receive what You want us to receive from this. Amen"

A few relevant scripture verses are:
"Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right." (Prov. 20:11)
"Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished." (Eccl 4:13 italics mine)  What an awesome verse.... there's a warning here for all of us to stay teachable.

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.  “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise  so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth. Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." (Eph. 6:1-4 italics mine)

A long and good life is promised to those who honor their parents, whether they have been good or bad parents.  Parents will answer to God  for how they treated their children, especially if they exasperate or frustrate them unnecessarily.

The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame (Prov. 29:15)
Are we ever seeing the results of this verse.  So many latch key kids, left to their own devices and we wonder why they are getting into trouble!

Your children might be giving you grief or attitude at home right now but I encourage you to keep doing what you know to do.  I have had to moderate my training techniques with each child because they are all individuals, so keep asking the Lord questions. He is faithful. He'll show you how to deal with each one.

If one style of training doesn't bear good fruit, try another.  If you screw up, tell them you did and that you are learning too.  Kids don't come with operating manuals and we are all learning by the seat of our pants.

I have learned the hard way not to surrender my spiritual authority in the home. My son or daughter might be causing me all kinds of grief and I might want to throw my hands up and say, "Okay, you stand on the word and I'll agree with you."  That might feel good at the moment but no mother or father wants to see their kids suffer.  That's not love.

Even if they are walking in unbelief in one area of their lives, your faith is always stronger because your faith is tied to the King of Kings. Their unbelief is tied to the devil's fallen realm.

So take authority over the enemy in whatever area he is attacking your children.  Remind him that you rule and reign through Jesus and that you have been given the keys to the Kingdom. Whatever you bind on earth is bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth is loosed in heaven (ref. Rom 5:17,19, Matt. 16:19)  Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. (1John. 4:4)

Here are some helpful confessions to declare over yourself:

-Thank You Lord that because we love your word it is very hard for us to become offended. (Ps. 119:165)
-Thank You Lord that we are quick to hear, slow to speak and very slow to become angry and offended.  (James 1:17)
-Thank You Lord for a great guard on our mouths and for setting a watch over our lips.(Ps. 141:3)
-Thank you that we walk in the reverential fear/awe of You and we don't want to hurt those you have entrusted to our care. (Eccl. 12:13, 2Chron. 19:7)
-Thank You Lord that we are on guard against pride and with your help we won't be deceived. (Obed. 3)

In the end I want to say that it is all worth it.  Kids do eventually grow up and realize just how much your tried to prepare them for life. So be encouraged, You with Holy Spirit are an awesome team!

I decree that you are blessed to be a blessing, you are teachable and you bring delight to the Father's heart. In Jesus' name we agree. Amen!

Wild Turkeys and Provision

Highway shot. There were approximately 50 of them in two large groups.
All those black dots on the snow are wild turkeys.

Here's a close up two of them.  The ones I saw didn't have the pretty colors and were a bit darker so maybe this photo, that I grabbed off the net, is of birds further down south or during the mating season.

Anyhow, did you notice that there is nothing to eat except snow?  I mean look at these birds. They would probably weigh in between 8-10 lbs. each and could eat a  spaghetti can full of grain a day. We raised turkeys once upon a time and let me tell you, they can eat.

I can't figure it out. Where are they finding food?  All there is out there is snow and freezing cold temperatures.  They are a wonder to me.

Every time I see them God talks to me about the sparrow and how He is looking after them. If God can be bothered with sparrows, how much more interested is He in me?

"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.  (Matt. 10:29-31)

He is extremely interested in each one of us. He has even counted the hairs on our heads.

Now, look at the turkeys.  They aren't worried about where tomorrow's food is coming from. They are just pecking around, a little here and a little there.  They aren't even that intelligent a bird. They squabble a lot and will chase each other around, expending tons of energy over a morsel of food or a stick.

If God can look after them with all their failings.. then I am sure He will look after each one of us.  He will make a way where there seems no way.  He will move Heaven and Earth on our behalf, in response to our prayers of faith.

"I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. "(Ps. 37:25)
"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." (Deut. 31:8)
"Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come." (Psalm 71:18)  Amen! Those are good words to declare out loud.

Have a great day with Him!  I'm going to keep asking the Lord for encouraging words.  Praise God. He will even use a bunch of turkeys to talk to me. LOL.

God Is Not Mean Or Vindictive

I just recently heard about a Christian who is suffering right now and is having a hard time working.  Apparently this person is having a hard time trusting God with all the responsibilities of life.

So the person who told me about it said, "Well maybe God allowed this so that the person would be forced to rest."

Ask any worrier and they will tell you that being at home does not mean that you will not think about all your problems. Actually, you will have more time to dwell on all the things you need to do but can't.

Second,  the Lord is not schizophrenic.  The Bible says, "For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men." Lam 3:33  Therefore, since God can't lie and He doesn't change, there must be something else happening here. (Mal. 3:6, 1Sam. 15:29, Num. 23:19)

Psalm 91 will give us a good clue. It says that "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will abide in the shadow of the Lord.   I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge, my fortress, my God in whom I trust. "(vs 1-2)

That's our part to do.  We choose to dwell.  We choose our thoughts and our words.  Our words can either invite the Angels to hang around us or the bad guys to hang around.  It is all our choice.

I can tell where you are headed by the words you speak.   Life and death are in the power of your tongue (Prov. 18:21). You believe what you say about yourself more than you believe what anyone else says.

Psalm 91 has more to say about the person who chooses to abide or dwell with God.  No evil will come near their home.  That's one promise I love!  Let's read this Psalm together aloud. It's got some powerful promises that we can put to work for us.  (The Angels hearken to the voice of His word, so let's give them lots to do!)

1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you
   from the fowler’s snare
   and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
   and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent (home).
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
   to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
 14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”  (Psalm 91:3-16 italics mine)

Amen!  Now I know you are going to have a good day.   You keep speaking God's promises out loud over yourself and you will have a great day.

You are blessed to be a blessing!   Let's pray for this person. "Lord we agree that this person I heard about is coming out of this attack far better than before. I speak life over this person and I say, "Be whole, Be Healthy, Be sound in your mind and full of Holy Spirit! I cast down every negative, idle word spoken over this person and I say rise up! in Jesus' Name. Rise Up! I speak peace to every situation they face and  revelation to every problem and joy to everyday issues they face.  Lord send your angels to help them get back on their feet. Give them testimonies for every trial they face, in Jesus' name! Amen!

Thanks for agreeing with me.
Have a great day with Him!

Flowers!

What a nice surprise!  After supper my husband made me close my eyes and then put some flowers with a card in front of me.   The card said "A more real way to recognize your work at the Mall helping people.  Dad and kids."

That made my day!  Better than the word I gave out at the grocery store even.   That is the first time my hubby has done something like that to affirm my prophetic ministry.  I was stunned!

So ladies, do not give up hope!  Get some powerful friends to pray for your marriage and your ministry, like I did and watch God break through!

Special thanks to my friends who were praying for me.  It was tough on my family because I was gone so much at the mall. They managed to survive without me, I am happy to report.  I am trying to work myself out of a job you know.  Who wants to be the maid of the house forever? Not me!

Anyhow,  Let's keep praying the word:

Thank You Lord for giving us better marriages than we ever dreamed possible.
Thank You Lord that “The secret of the Lord is for us who fear/revere You. (Psalm 25:14)
Thank You Lord that the secret things belong to You, but the things revealed belong to us and your children forever. (Deut. 29:29)
Thank You Lord for revealing the secrets we need, to break through our situations as we pursue You. (Ps. 112:4)
Thank You Lord that Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path (Ps. 119:10).  Thanks for showing me nuggets in Your word to help me grow into Your likeness.

Thank You Lord that the work you have begun in me, You will finish. (Phil. 1:6)

Okay, somebody needs to hear this. It's His job to finish the work in you.  Your job is to be available and teachable.  He has promised to lead you into all truth. He is faithful and He cannot lie, so relax and enjoy the journey. Really,  relax and enjoy His sweet fellowship.  You bring delight to the Father's heart every day.  It's not about the spectacular finish. It's about the day to day walk and talk with Him.  That is what He is after.  That is what His heart cries out for.  His heart can fellowship with the whole world at the same time and still have room for you. He is that big.  So don't grieve His heart.  Just tell Him You love him more than anything else, and show it with your choices.  Amen.

Bless you!
In His love,

Word at Dentist's Office

So you would tend to think after reading the last 4 or 5 posts that I am always this bold person, always flowing in words of knowledge and prophesy, right?

Think again! Yesterday I got busy at home before my dentist appointment and did not do my daily devotions or good confessions.  I was more concerned about what to get done on my tooth and praying for protection over the procedure, etc., etc.

So there I was, sitting in the dentist's chair with a frozen mouth, waiting on the dentist.  Getting a little bored, I thought to ask the Lord, "What's up with the dentist?"

I immediately got this picture of him working in another office and thought, "That's cool. I wonder if he is going to expand?  I asked the dental assistant when she came in and she said, "No, he's quite happy here."

So, I didn't mention the word to him.

Has it happened to you?  A little bit of discouragement comes, so you ignore the prompting of the Lord and shut down your gift.  I have done it countless times and you probably have too, without realizing it.

I have learned to repent quickly.  Then I revisit the words or visions I get and double check with Holy Spirit to see if I am right, by asking for more details and clarifying the vision. Second, I double check to make sure my motive is right-- I want to bless and encourage the person.  Third, I ask the Lord if I have missed my window of opportunity to deliver the word.

With that in mind, I went through my check list and then I sent the dentist an email about my word.  The worst case is, he will disregard it and think I am a little odd.  That's okay, I have already died to what other people think about me.  As long as Holy Spirit is happy, I am happy too.

The upshot is that my word might help him to recognize a God ordained opportunity when it comes.  God will always confirm His word. It's worthwhile being obedient.  I have had people come to me years later and thank me for the words I have given them, even those that rejected  the word initially.

I hope this helps you to step out of your comfort zone.  The thrill of being obedient to Holy Spirit and helping Him is far greater than any discouragement or backlash from a person.

Let's pray: "Lord help us all to be so Heavenly minded that we can help tons of people here on the Earth. Help us set our minds and affections on things above.  Holy Spirit expose the pride of our hearts so that it doesn't deceive us. Thank You Lord that because we love Your word we avoid pride and offense.  May we always be motivated by Your great love and may we always live in the light of eternity. Amen! " (Col. 3:1-3, Obed.1:3, Ps. 119:165,  1John. 3:18, John 9:4)

Have a great day with HIM!

Follow Up to Three Days at the Mall

Initial table set up without candy dish & candies
Hello Saints.  I was just looking at the notes I made about the people that came to my table and the ones I visited in the mall. Saturday was the busiest by far. Whole families were stopping by my table.  It was amazing how God gave me words and/or pictures for all of them.  I figure about 100 people got words over the 3 sessions I was there.  Over thirty people got given the gospel message via the million dollar bill tract I was giving out and 5 people told me thanks for coming out and helping the people.  I saw about 10 people's jaws drop, stunned by what God gave me for them. Many other people confirmed the words I gave them.   Many wanted to know if all Christians could do this.  I replied to all of them, "All Christians can hear God's voice."

It was a really good investment in the community.  I was surprised to find out that over half the people that came to me had no idea that they could go to a charismatic church and get a word there from the Pastor or other ministry helper.  That is sad. We all need to get the word out about prophesy in the church being real and available today.

I heard myself telling some of the people, "You think I'm good.  You should see how detailed some of the other prophets are!"

Many times I didn't have anything till the people asked me for a word.  Sometimes God would give me something as they asked, and sometimes it was like I saw the blockage in their lives that was hindering them from their destiny.   I wish I had had more time to process it all and figure out how to respond. All I could do was give them what the Lord gave me.  The Lord helped me with each person.  I was amazed at how the approach and delivery would change from person to person.  Truly, God was helping me.

I was really encouraged to hear Pastor Jim saying he wished he could have been out there with me.  Then Pastor Mark was saying how he'd like to see whole teams going out to do this, in the Sunday service!  That would be so awesome!  Then when one gets discouraged, the other can encourage them.

Anyhow,  that's my recap.  I am still praying for the people I spoke over.  Turns out that one of the ladies God gave me a word for is the wife of the fellow I used to work with.  How amazing is that?  God's so good!

Anyhow, let's pray. "I declare that you are blessed and highly favored.  The Lord's Spirit is mighty in prophesy and the Lord's spirit is working mightily in you!   Have a great day asking the Lord what to pray for people around you.  (That's how I started growing in the word of knowledge). Amen!"
