Normal?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sduW1hliaio&NR=1&feature=fvwp
This video caught my eye because it is so shocking for us in North America.  We have a fine, upstanding police force that would never be caught drinking on the job.  You can see the the people in the video are surprised, skeptical, shocked and unbelieving during the video taping  because this behavior is so out of character.

How I wish that it could be that way in the body of Christ.  It should be unusual when signs and things that make you wonder do not happen around Christians.  Miracles should be status quo for us. Signs and wonders should be normal for us.

That is what I am going after!  I want the Lord to be pleased to validate the words I speak and the actions I do with signs, wonders and miracles. That means I have to walk really tight with Holy Spirit, never letting him get away from me.

It is like a waltz that He is leading and I'm following.   I don't want Him to get out of my arms reach and if I don't follow His lead I can get my feet trampled or miss the next turn in the dance.

I have learned that one of the biggest keys to walking tight with Holy Spirit is a surrendered thought life.  I don't want to think about anything that He doesn't approve of. I take bad thoughts captive by speaking out loud the good I want to see.  I ask Holy Spirit for His take on situations and things all the time and He has lots to say.  He surprises me every day!  He sees the heart of things and I have learned to treasure His opinion and wisdom.

So let's pray these verses. "The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But (we) put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts." (Rom. 13:12-14)"   Lord help us to be your ambassadors every where we go, in Jesus' name we ask. Amen!

Bless you as you go!

Giving It Away

"Freely you have received, freely give." (Matt. 10:8) This is one of the verses I live by.  I only prayed for 10 people on Thursday, some in person and some on the phone and I want to increase that number so I started asking the Lord how. This is a summary of what He highlighted for me to do.

Business....  I have to watch that I don't become so focused on the task at hand, that I miss the opportunities.

Attitude... It's important to keep thanksgiving and praise flowing so that I hear Holy Spirit easily. Singing in tongues or speaking in tongues primes your spiritual pump, so that all the other gifts are available.

Awareness.... Lord help me to be aware of the needs around me for healing and encouraging, prophetic words so that I don't miss the opportunities.

Preparation... I  have to make sure that I am confessing the word over myself;  that the anointing I have received abides in me, that I continue to walk in the anointing I have attained and that I have great boldness because I am righteous. (ref. 1John 2:27, Phil. 3:16, Prov. 28:1, 2Tim. 1:7)

Goals... I should start the day with a goal in mind for example... "Lord I want to talk to 5 people today about the Kingdom of God," or "Lord, I want to pray for healing for 3 people today."  Without a spoken goal the day can slip by all too easily. Conversely, if I make a goal then I will go out of my way to accomplish that goal.

Tact... I have to be careful who I go shopping with. Some people are interested in seeing the Kingdom manifest around them and some aren't, especially when it takes me double the time to get an errand done. I need to be sensitive to what's going on in their lives too.

I Hope these points help you. I know they are going to help me to live more 'on purpose' for Him.

Bless you as you go.  May you walk with Holy Spirit tighter than you ever have before.  May you know His joy as He says, "Thanks for helping me today." Amen.

Love & hugs,
Brenda Gale Thompson

Do Not Discount Yourself!

Boy did I learn a lesson the other night.  Let me share what happened with you so that you don't make the mistake I almost made.

Friday nights are healing meetings at our church, www.wcca.ca and it was about  9 p.m. when the pastor called up the ministry team to help out.  I was tired and ready to go home to bed, but I asked Holy Spirit what He wanted me to do.  He said to go up to the front.

I obeyed, but I was wondering what I was going to do, as there were already some ministry team members up there and I did not see lots of people going up for healing.

I got up to the front, when a friend that I have been encouraging in the healing gifts asked me if I would pray for a fellow. I said, "Sure." (I mean what else am I going to say?  I know that the anointing I have received abides in me. (1John. 2:27))

We went to pray for this man and he got touched. (I didn't feel a thing.) Then the pastor came over and wanted to pray for him so I stepped back so he could.  Cancer's were cursed and healing was loosed and the man was touched even more by Holy Spirit.

Then my friend brought another fellow for me to pray for.  I prayed for this new fellow as Holy Spirit led and asked him to test out his back.  He replied very seriously, "I know it's healed because I can stand here with no pain."

I had a word of knowledge for him to start the healing of his soul and I shared it with him quietly.  He received it well.

Then I said, "Okay, your back is better, but someone has a sore back right here," and I pointed to where I had a word of knowledge in my back.

My friend piped up, "That's for me!" We both chuckled and I had him turn around.  After asking permission, I laid my hands on him and got the new fellow, who had been healed, to lay hands too.  I showed the new fellow how to start the healing flow by focusing on how much Jesus loves this man. Then I told him to release God's love into my friend to fix whatever was wrong.

The new fellow complied.... I think he was kind of shocked to hear my friend say he felt better after receiving prayer.  This was his first time at West Carleton Christian Assembly and they had driven over an hour to get there.   God met them there and used him to bring healing to someone else too.  Truly the scripture says, "Freely ye have received, freely give." (Matt. 10:8) He won't forget that night!

I lost track of how many people I prayed for that night.  It was an awesome sight.  I would have missed it completely if I had listened to my flesh and gone home.

My friend had been asking people all week to come and had gone out of his way to bring people that needed healing. Lord bless him for his obedience.

So my point is, do not discount yourself.  You matter!  The Lord wants to use you! Maybe the Lord could use someone else in a pinch, but He wants to use you.

On that note let me pray for you.  "Lord I bless the person reading this.  Thank You that Your healing power flows through their hands today and that Your words of love, grace, mercy and power are being spoken today, changing every situation they come across.   Thank You so much Lord that You want to use them for Your glory today.  I declare that they are Your ambassadors today and that they are world changers for You. Amen!

I Receive Your Love

Have you ever had a day where you had all your plans made and then the Lord said, "But I wanted you to do this?" I have.   I was supposed to go to the local Fountain for some acrylic painting but the Lord said to get this video done.

Well, the voice recording was horrible and I am an amateur singer at best, so I recorded a piano accompaniment and then tried to record the vocals again.  Not the best because of a cold, but it's understandable.

So maybe you are that someone that God wanted me to get this done for!  Our minds get renewed as we sing the word of God you know.   This is the kind of song that I hum as I work.  I hope you will too.

I decree that you are blessed today; physically, mentally, spiritually and financially and that your hands are anointed to transfer God's glory to other people. Go with God and go in Love! Amen.

His love is shed abroad in our hearts by Holy Spirit. (ref. Rom. 5:5)
"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. "(John 13:35)
"Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law." (Rom. 13:8)
"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God..." (1John 4:7)
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." (1John 4:18)
By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:35)

Have a great day!

I See Them...

I got this song during a time in my life when I was very busy and not really doing anything for the Kingdom of God.  It really haunted me and that was when I decided to learn how to share my faith with others.  It has been a wonderful journey and I can't begin to count how many people I have impacted for the Kingdom of God so far.  God takes our little efforts and multiplies them. Hallelujah!
