Crocheting detour
Well, I did it. I finally opened up my crocheting storage bin after a years break to see if I could make these fancy 'Robin Hood' style slippers. It felt like Christmas! It was so nice to be able to create again. Just have to find the balance in life so that I don't go overboard again and miss out on time with the Lord.
I listened to some great preaching while I was crocheting these pieces. I keep a note pad handy so I can write down any insights I want to work on.
I thought I was ready for Christmas when I got a request from my daughter. Turns out my grand daughter loves her new Barbie doll and could I please make her some clothes? Ha ha, I scoured the internet and took out a few books from the library and found a few patterns I thought I could do. Finding the right kind of yarn was a bigger challenge. I found the dress while I was searching for suitable yarn.
Here's what I ended up making while I listened to some great preaching and watched a boring movie with my hubby.
Two hours for a little hat and keyhole scarf! The stitches are so tiny that it takes forever to crochet anything. I even did an internet search looking for Barbie clothes to see if I could find a deal and save myself a few hours and found that there is not much out there.
Went searching the next day for yarn and couldn't find any so I called a friend and she had some leftover baby yarn. PTL! I got it from her and finished this outfit.
It wasn't a waste of time because I was able to review many of my good confessions and build myself up in the word. Jedediah Tham says that in many cases our times with God are unfruitful because we haven't spent enough time in the word of God. No word in your diet equals very little to chew on or meditate on.
Looking back I can see where having a full diet of the promises of God has helped my meditation time. Lots of Word gives Holy Spirit lots to work with, lol. Also, lots of word in your diet gives you lots of discernment because, "the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:11-13)
Powerful eh? So the key is to make sure that your activities don't leave you spiritually starving for meat. You want lots of good word in your diet so that Holy Spirit can breathe on it and make it a living word for you in your devotional times or meditation times.
Let's activate this with our words: "Thank You Lord for giving us a hunger for your word. Help us to always make time for your word and protect our meditation times from intrusion and spiritual attack. We want to bear lots of fruit for You, Lord Jesus! Amen!"
Bless you!

Just try...
Holy Spirit keeps telling me, "Just try." It goes along with, "trust me," one of those really tough things to do outside of your comfort zone. I keep hearing the Lord say, "You can do it!" Hmmmm, that's something to think about.
I am getting better at trusting the Lord although I still fall flat on my face once in a while. I don't know if that will ever change, lol.
Yesterday a bunch of us were at a restaurant for supper and I said, "Let's pray for a word for the waitress." I started praying and all I got was 'traveling'. It wasn't really much to go on but I thought okay I will ask her if that means anything to her.
The next time she came around I asked her if the word 'traveling' meant anything to her because when I asked the Lord about her that's what I got. She was excited and said, "Yes, I have always wanted to go traveling, though I don't know how I'm going to go."
I encouraged her with what I felt the Lord was saying and prayed for a good traveling companion for her. She left and the restaurant got really busy and I never got the chance to resume our conversation.
That used to bother me until I surrendered my personal opinions about what should and should not happen during an encounter. Somebody once told me that I wasted my time because I didn't get the waitress saved. I disagree. I am supposed to obey. The Bible says, that some plant, some water, some harvest. Who am I to disagree with God?
I left a great Gospel tract with my generous tip. This waitress now knows that God cares about her and is interested in her personally and my million dollar bill with the gospel message will get read when she is ready to read it. I just know it. I have seen this happen again and again.
The most important thing is to try. Holy Spirit will show himself strong on your behalf.... just like he does for me.
I will be a fool for him everyday if it means he is using me! I don't care what people think or say! Do you hear me? I realized that I would never step outside of my comfort zone until I got to the place where I wanted to please Jesus more than I wanted to keep my reputation!
Here are some helpful confessions that I use to get to that place everyday.
Thank You Jesus that I love you more than anything.
Thank You Jesus that the fear of God is pure and clean enduring forever. (ref. Psalm 19:9)
Thank You Lord for setting me free from the fear of man which is a snare and a trap. (ref. Prov. 29:25)
Thank You Lord that I don't love my life or reputation more than you. (ref. Rev. 12:6)
Thank You Lord for helping me to step outside of my comfort zone.
Thank You Lord for helping me to seize the moments to bring your Kingdom down to earth.
Thank You Lord for giving me encouraging words for all the people I meet today.
Thank You Lord for showing me who to talk to today about You.
Thank You Lord that Your Spirit is mighty in prophesy and Your Spirit is flowing mightily through me.
Thank You Lord that your thoughts for us are uncountable. Thank You for giving me one of those thoughts for each person I think about and show me what to speak or do with it. (ref. Psalm 139:17-18)
I Bless you richly. May you have courage and great boldness to just 'try' to take God at his word today. He's forever faithful/true because he cannot deny himself. Amen!

Psalm 149 Updated
Hi there. I got a warning last week about binding and loosing spirits and how we should be very careful about what we bind and loose. I agree. We need Holy Spirit's guidance. However, when you have gone after the spirit and it just keeps coming back... we might want to look deeper and make sure that there are not legal rights that the spirit has, that allow it to come back to harass, torment or afflict you.
You want to:
1. Ask the Lord to forgive you and your family members for any ungodly thoughts, words and actions.
2. Forgive them and yourself. "Lord I forgive myself and all my family members and I know you do too."
3. "Father, in Jesus' name I break all curses and the effects of all curses that have come upon my family and myself."
4. "I ask Holy Spirit to fill us radically and to bless them and myself physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially, and relationally."
5. "I command every evil spirit that has been harassing my family to be bound, gagged and muzzled now in Jesus' name. I ask the Lord to send angels to take these evil spirits to dry places to be dealt with by Jesus."
So you've done all this and the attack abates for a bit then starts up again. Don't lose heart!
Plan B is... we know that if you want to stop a war you take out the opposing general. Without a commander the soldiers will give up quickly. So there is a newer stream of Christian thought that teaches about binding the wicked kings to win the fight.
I guess my caution is to make sure that the repentance and forgiveness has been done first before you start binding up wicked ruling spirits.
Here's an interesting video by James Goll on the subject of binding wicked kings with a good preface.

If you can determine to praise the Lord at all times then you will be just fine.
Here is a link to a song I wrote about Psalm 149. You will like it, and it will help you memorize this psalm.

This teaching is not complete by far. As I get more revelation and teaching that works in the trenches, I will post and apprise you. I want you walking in great, great victory. I want the witches and warlocks to get really nervous when you walk into a Walmart or grocery store. After all, we are here to enforce his victory and 'make all his enemies his footstool' (ref. Heb. 10:13) Those precious people probably haven't seen a strong Christian... yet!
I declare you are blessed and highly favored by the greatest king of all, Jesus!

Spiritual Discernment Needed
Spiritual Discernment is so very important if you want to live a victorious life in Christ.
Many Christians have this gift, even if they have not received the fullness of the Holy Spirit yet.
If, all of a sudden, you get a wave of negative, condemning, critical or angry thoughts that are out of character for you, ask the Lord , "Is this me or is someone under attack?"Many Christians have this gift, even if they have not received the fullness of the Holy Spirit yet.
The key is "all of a sudden". If you were fine five minutes ago, and the world has not fallen apart, then where did this flow of horrible thoughts come from? That is a very good question to ask.
Here are a few keys to recognize the enemy's attack:
-A spirit of lust usually manifests in lustful thoughts.
-A spirit of jealousy usually manifests in jealous, angry thoughts.
-A spirit of unbelief can manifest in sleepiness when trying to read, blurry text, and trouble remembering what you have learned.
-A spirit of hatred is usually manifest in sudden hatred of a person(s).
The key is to ask the Lord specific questions. I encourage people to practice asking the Lord twenty questions a day, minimum.
Did you know that discernment and words of knowledge can work together? Sometimes, I will get a body impression, like a flash headache, or an ache somewhere and immediately I will ask the Lord, "Who's under attack, me or someone else?"
A sore throat can mean someone I know is under attack with a cold, or... it could mean that someone has overextended their speaking or singing voice.
You want to look for a symptom or a stream of thoughts that are not normally yours.
For example, I just got a phone call today. My girlfriend has just lost her temper with her family twice, in the last three days. She says this is so 'out of character' for her, that she's going to the doctor to make sure her blood pressure is okay.
I suggested to her that this is probably a spiritual attack and asked her if she had been praying for anyone who had an anger management problem. You see... many times when you pray for someone, the devil will try to give you the same 'problem', so you will quit praying for the person.
"No", she replied, "Not that I'm aware of."
I told her, "This is not like you."
We prayed and asked the Lord what was going on, and 'all of a sudden" she remembered something.
"We had Mike and his family over, and he's into the occult.", she blurted out.
"I am pretty sure an evil spirit hitched a ride into your home with those people.", I speculated. "When did they come over for a visit?", I asked.
"Sunday." she answered.
"And your unexplained fits of anger started on Monday.", I elaborated.
She was catching on and I was very happy for her. You have to remember that many, many Christians have not been taught on the reality of the spirit realm and how it operates.
"Now all you have to do is kick them out, in the name of Jesus.", I encouraged her.
So we commanded the evil spirits to go back to the pit of hell where they came from and I plead the blood of Jesus over my friend and her family. I loosed, in Jesus' name angels to go guard her home and family. I claimed double restoration on anything the enemy had messed up.
For the family that visited my girlfriend, I commanded that their eyes, ears and spirits would be open to hear the gospel. I asked the Lord to move in christian witnesses around them. I blessed my friend, her own family and this other family that visited her home. I broke any and all curses off of them in Jesus' name.
My girlfriend and I gave thanks for their salvation and deliverance in advance.
Does that help you to understand how evil spirits operate to harass people? We are more than conquerors through Jesus... we just have to learn how to recognize the devil's sneaky ways. (2Cor 2:14, Rom 5:17,19) Now, go practice asking the Lord questions.Did you know that discernment and words of knowledge can work together? Sometimes, I will get a body impression, like a flash headache, or an ache somewhere and immediately I will ask the Lord, "Who's under attack, me or someone else?"
