New Levels of Glory and Victory!

Hi Saints.   I was hungering for more of God and somehow on Youtube I discovered this fellow teaching about Translocation.    Yes, you read it right.  This amazing fellow has some great testimonies and people are not advertising him the way they should be.  He's got  a Hebrew way of thinking and sheds light on many bible verses that perplexed me before.

So.... go look up Ian Clayton on Youtube and let your soul be satisfied with the fatness of the word.   There are lots of videos of him teaching.  Oh, and by the way.... every religious spirit will manifest too, Hallelujah! -- and that's all good.

Big hugs and many blessings,

God's making up for the lost years!

Hi there.   A friend reminded me of a good prophesy for people over 50 so I went back and dug up the footage of Sammy Robinson and made a clip of it.

Horses in Visions and Activation

I just got confirmation of something that's always bugged me.   I enjoy riding my horses as time permits and I was wondering why the horse I have in Heaven (that I see in my spirit) doesn't have a bridle or reins on her.    I told the Lord that I needed a saddle on her so that I wouldn't fall off and he acquiesced to my request.  But no bridle....   That's a scary ride on the earth for sure.

Now I'm hungry for more of God.  I want to be like Brother Lawrence that practised the presence of God all the time and people got so blessed when he would do the dishes in the monastery.  Some of them even collapsed because of the glory shining out from him!

Back to my story... so I'll be walking around in a heavenly realm asking the Lord, "what do you want me to see?" and my horse come up behind me and nudge me on the shoulder.  It's so special when a horse does that.   They want to be with you and that's a big, big compliment!

Anyhow,  yesterday I was listening to Bruce Allen teaching about Translation by Faith on Youtube and he talked about how the horses in heaven  don't have bridles or reins because the bond is love!

That makes perfect sense!   When I get on my horse in heaven, I just think something and we're there.  You can ride around if you want, but if you want to go somewhere fast you can do it in an instant.

If I've lost some of you remember that Jesus said that the Kingdom of God is at hand.  And Paul said that we are seated with Him in Heavenly places.  That means that our spirits are already engaging the realm of Heaven and that we can go there by faith whenever we want. We have access through the blood of Jesus into everything Father God has dreamed/planned for us.

As we determine to be a living sacrifice The Father has made provision for us to be cleaned up and presentable to him. Our job is to offer all of our dreams, ambitions, hopes and desires to him and to be willing to become of no reputation (like Jesus).... Then He will make us fit to do the Master's work.  That's his part.

I'm excited to be used by Father God more and to help more people.  I'm excited to see what he'll show me today.   So in a practical way you can start by putting on the praise  and worship music and repent of any sin that Holy Spirit shows you.  Then when you feel the spirit of worship start to worship and when you feel his presence ask Holy SPirit what he wants to show you.  Close your eyes and look and you'll see the blackness turn into light,,, then gradually pictures.   You can check with Holy Spirit to confirm what you are seeing.  That's a simple way to activate your spiritual vision. The more you practice the easier it gets.  Also, there are other ways to engage the Kingdom on Heaven that I'll explain in another article.

If you want this then please speak this prayer out loud:
Lord Jesus, I want to be yours today.  Please let me be your living sacrifice today.  I give all of myself to you to do with as you choose.   Thank you for opening my eyes and my ears to hear your truth.  Thank You for giving me a teachable heart today and a hunger for your words today.

I command every deaf and dumb spirit and every spirit of unbelief to come off me in the Name of Jesus and cover myself and my family and my home with the blood of Jesus. Every black hood of spiritual blindness come off us now, in Jesus' name!

Thank you Lord for activating me in the things of your Kingdom. Thank You Lord for teaching me how your kingdom operates.  I believe I receive impartation to engage in your Kingdom by faith today. Thank you for dreams and visions of Heaven  today and every day.  Thank You Lord that YOU want this for me, your child.  Amen!

Have a great day with Him!

Don't Lose YOUR Voice

A while ago someone praying over me told me that I was getting back the voice that I had lost.  I didn't understand what she meant at the time so I filed it away and asked God about it every so often.

This morning I heard Pastor Mark Redner teaching about taking dominion over things, situations and circumstances and the light bulb went off.

Somehow, through discouragement I had allowed myself to quit walking by faith.  The Bible says that we are supposed to walk by faith and not by sight but can I tell you that sometimes your sight can overwhelm your faith?

I never would have thought it could happen to me, but it can, even to seasoned faith talker like me.

The accusations of people, the niggling thoughts about nothing's changing, the self doubts that the enemy plays in your head all attack the promises and destiny that God has for you.

We need to be ever vigilant to take those negative thoughts captive and to make the effort to hang out with other people of like mind.  An analogy that fits is, 'one coal by itself will soon go out but many coals together keep each other burning.'

We are in a real war.  I need, we need to act like soldiers.  As difficult as that can be we need to remember that we are bought with a very high price and we are not our own.

"Calling things that be not as though we are" is not a habit  that we can let slide.  If we ever want things to change we have to keep on doing the things that have brought us this far.

The other thing that Pastor pointed out that I thought was really appropriate was that we can't wait for our friends or family to get fixed before we go on with God.  As tough as it is we have to let them wallow in the  pigsty if that's what they choose to do.  You can only hold your hand out so long before you'll get a crick in your back.  If they are that insistant that they want to live their lives the way they choose-- then that's their choice.  We have to honor that freedom to choose and move on with our lives.

Is it difficult to do this?  You bet! Especially with family members!  All we can do is keep decreeing the promises of God over their lives and bind the enemy and leave them with the Father.  That's what faith does.

Nothing is worth sacrificing your fellowship with the Lord. Nothing.  Without him we are nothing and apart from him we can do nothing! (John 15:  )

On that note I got out my  thankful confessions this afternoon and started speaking them out loud.  Hallelujah!  Do you know that I've seen lots of breakthroughs  because of these confessions?  Yes.... it's really true.  Someone once said, "We make our habits, then our habits make us."  I want good habits, so I can leave a legacy of encouraging words, videos and people healed and delivered.

Impossible?  Nope!  Nothing is impossible for God!  He loves impossible situations!  It's his opportunity to shine brightly in your life.

So What do you think?  Has anyone or anything stolen your voice for a season?  Are there promises of God that you have put on the shelf?  I hope I've encouraged you to take all the land that God has promised you!

For Meditation:
Heb. 6:12 ... "Be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises."
Gal. 6:9 "Do not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not faint."
Isaiah 40: 29-31"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
"So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised" (Heb 10:35-36)

Have a great day with Him!

Values

I have heard a lot of stuff in my fifty years and I have seen a lot of stuff go wrong in relationships.

I have seen seemingly good relationships fall apart for the most minimal reasons that became mountains somehow.

Because I value relationships above money I have watched and learned a few things to protect relationships.  Here's one big tip...

When you go on a trip or a joint venture with someone before the end of it always ask if the money obligations are satisfied.  You do not want them walking away feeling used or shortchanged.   My friend was really good about that and I so appreciated her bringing up that sensitive topic.

You see, I made the mistake of going on a holiday with someone and wrongly assumed that they would bring money to cover their share of the motel, food, gas and some spending money.  What a shock when I found out that she didn't bring a cent!  Spent her money before the trip no less!

So now I know to communicate more, rather than less.   This can be very difficult especially if the other person is 'too busy' for you.... but you have to try.

When a friend was planning on going on a 3 week holiday with two of her  friends I suggested that she discuss in advance what the itinerary was going to be, how many events they wanted to take in, who was going to drive and how the expenses were going to be paid for.   After the trip my friend phoned and thanked me many times for that piece of advice because the trip was great, there were no headaches and their friendships were still intact.

You see,  some people have the idea that Christianity doesn't affect their spending habits  They are Christians, all right-- they just haven't gotten a revelation about kingdom priorities.

In the Kingdom of God we are warned not to cause  any of God's little ones to stumble.  God values you and I --not money.

If you are on the receiving end of some financial abuse... take heart!  God hears your cry and he will pay you back.

That's not to excuse the other person's behavior.   They will end up having to retake the test another time.  Your priority is to keep your heart clean before the Lord.  That's a big enough assignment!

I hope this tip saves you some grief.  I am still learning of course and I welcome your feed back.

Have a great day with HIM!
Big hugs,
Brenda Gale Thompson

The Voice of the Father

I always wondered what the Father's voice would sound like when I actually heard it.  I have been pressing into worship and seen lots of stuff in visions of God.  As I've gotten closer to the throne room of Heaven I've been wondering when I would get to hear his Voice.

There is so much music in Heaven.... it takes a bit of getting used to.  Everything is singing.  Even inanimate objects have a song resonating in them.  If I pause and stand and focus on the music I can see the notes appear in the air.  Amazing stuff.

Anyhow, I was getting stuck in the groups of worshipers that wait their turn in front of the throne level.  They are all so excited to be able to worship at the throne in Heaven.  I remember saying, 'help' in my head and all of a sudden I had a back stage pass in my hand and in a blink I was behind the throne area.

Now when I worship it's like I go to the back of the throne area immediately and there are all these angels and living creatures on that level.  There's a huge angel with wings that are at least 10 ft long at the top of the dais and he's curled his wing around me a time or two-- when the glory got to intense for me to stand in it.

Lately, I've been getting closer and I keep seeing this angel that's glowing with fire all over him.  When he moves fast he leaves a trail of fire.  He's looking at me and then looking back over his shoulder to the Father. I know he's got something for me.  I just know it!  He's waiting for the right moment.

Anyhow.... I was watching the Father intently and he was motionless, sitting on the throne.  I was awestruck with his majesty and power. I thought to myself, "All I want to do was to sit and watch him run the comos."

I heard Holy Spirit talk to me and I said, "I love you Holy Spirit but I'd really like to hear the Father's voice." and He said, "I am the Father's Voice."

I pondered that and then Holy Spirit said, "When you hear me, You are hearing the Father."

How amazing is that?  The most powerful, creative, awesome being in the universes and He's talking to me!!!

Every time we hear Holy Spirit we are hearing Father God cause he is God's voice.

Let's pray:  Lord we treasure you!   Help us to always be able to hear and discern your lovely voice.  Awaken us in the morning with your sweet songs and put us to bed in the evening hearing your precious, precious words of love.  Yell at us it we are going to mess up our lives and give us ears to hear and a receptive, humble heart to obey what you say. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen!

Tent Meetings!

Hi there.  I just came back from 6 days of tent meetings.  I was taping the whole thing so I've got tons of good footage to make into clips in the next few months.

Here's one of them....

It's Brother Russ Moyer's prophesy over the valley.  Very encouraging I thought.

No more muzzles on our workers!

Hmmm.  I  have been thinking about this article for a long time and how to write it the right way.  Here goes.

The Bible says  'don't muzzle the ox that's treading out the grain' (Deut.25:4).  This was not a common practise in the days when people used oxen because the ox would always stop to eat.  So the driver would have to goad the ox to keep him treading out the grain.  Also,  the owners risked the animals health because the ox could get sick from eating so much grain at one time.

So any farmer would wonder what does this scripture mean?  I think we need to remember that Jesus was really concerned about people and often used analogies to convey a thought.

If this scripture is really talking about people then maybe we need to investigate what the oxen was doing. Really, the ox was doing the work that no one else wanted to do.  He was doing a very important, yet boring job of walking around in circles pulling a very heavy log or roller to crush the grain.

If I am correct,  then what this scripture means is that we are to treat 'well' the people who do the work no one else wants to do.  We are not to treat them with less respect or prevent them from enjoying all the rewards (the grain).  The rewards can mean the spiritual, physical and financial benefits of the church.

1Titus 5:18 says "Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain," and "The worker deserves his wages."  This cuts into the prevailing mentality of free volunteer work.  So where's the balance?  If you can't get anyone else to do the job then maybe there's a reason for that?

Churches say they can't afford good help.... I say they can't afford not to pay for good, reliable help.  And who's to say that the Lord won't tell the person to give back their wages in the offering bucket?

The bible has many examples of where the priests had to leave the temple work because they weren't getting paid. Have we learned nothing in all these years?  Enough said.

I've seen way too many people who were good volunteers leave churches because they got tired of feeling used and unappreciated.  I've got to ask,  how bad does it have to get?   The library where I work part time has volunteer and staff appreciation events every couple of months.  Funny, but they have had the same volunteers for years and some of the staff have been there over ten years.

Maybe they have caught onto something?   The volunteers put in a few hours a week doing the easiest jobs and yet they are so appreciated and affirmed!  Maybe we need to ask our volunteers how we can make them feel more appreciated?

I don't have all the answers.  I sure miss my friends who helped me on the video camera, sound board and projection screen.  So if the video isn't following the person... cut me some slack.  I'm probably trying to fix the sound board feed or trying to figure out how to get a video ready to play on the big screen.

Let's pray:  Thank You Lord for your help in our lives.  Thank You Lord for your constant encouragement.  Help us all to rely on you more for our daily provision, guidance and problem solving ability.  Thank You Lord for joy in our journey.  Thank You Lord that You said whoever wants to be great must be the servant of all.  Thank You Lord for helping us pass the tests along the way.  Thank You Lord for healthy boundaries and for helping us recognize control and manipulation in our relationships.  Thank you Lord for showing us how to stop it gently,  with the right attitude.
Thank You Lord for all your prophetic words over our lives! Thank you Lord that they are coming to pass! Thank You Lord that because we are 'willing and obedient', (with a good attitude) we eat the good(the best) of the land.  Hallelujah!   Amen!

You have a great day with Holy Spirit!  I just know He's working on your behalf, going ahead of you and preparing the way for you!

I saw some cute kids dancing at the back of church after the healing service was over.  They were so cute that I quickly grabbed my phone and caught some clips.

I tried to put them together in a meaningful way and this is what I came up with.  There is so much to learn about film production.  After I finish this intro course on Library Management  I might take a course on how to make better movies. We'll see.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fh0V_rbQDZA&feature=share&list=UU7E5UbsoEGA5NEGm3yirUmA

Oh.  Guess what?  I'm still going out to the malls etc. The other day I was handing out million dollar bills at a Dollarama store and a lady said,  "Thank you very much."  I went back to her and explained about the million dollar gift and she got more excited.  We talked and as I left she said, "Keep praying for me."  I told her I would.

Then at another store, I was going around when I thought I'm going to try what Matt Sorger was preaching about.  I said, "Come out in Jesus' name!" a few times as I walked down a few isles. (I wasn't yelling, lol)  I didn't see any demons manifest (Shucks!) but there were some Asian ladies that kept following me around.   It wasn't strange at all.  I could tell they just wanted to be around me.  I wish I could tell you that I had the courage to interrupt their conversation but I'm not there yet.  I don't speak Punjabi or whatever language they speak.

I'm still learning!  I'm getting more bold about praying for people in stores when I see someone sick or with a crutch etc.  Deliverance can be really messy.  I need more boldness I guess.  I'll have to start  decreeing Proverbs 28:1-- that I am as bold as a lion because I am righteous.

I did miss it at the library with a young man who wouldn't make eye contact.  He needed help with his computer and I got it fixed for him.  I could tell that he was so nervous with me being around him that I didn't want to push it.  As it was, as soon as I left he took off to the bathroom. Looking back, maybe I should have blessed him.  He was like a deer in head lights....  maybe next time.

So be encouraged!  I don't always get it right and Holy Spirit has never chastised me or reprimanded me.   If you hear stuff like that.... it's the accuser for sure!  Tell him to go back where he came from and keep trying.  You'll have a lot of fun and bless many, many people!

God doesn't need a perfect vessel, he just needs a yielded vessel. Hallelujah!

God bless you!
Big hugs,

Little by Little

It was my grand daughter's birthday  last week and I wanted to give her something special.  My daughter didn't want to take the time to learn how to crochet or knit so I took over.    It looks like a lot, but really it's not.   I just did a little every day or so-- when I was waiting for the bus, baking something or listening to some great teaching on youtube.  Little by little the number of clothing pieces  increased over time.

The key is to start and not give up.  Some of these pieces I had to rip apart and crochet or knit over and over to get them to fit right.   It's the same  with seeking the Lord.  Some days it seems like all I can do is spend my  hour trying to quiet my mind so I can hear his voice. Yet through it all I am growing little by little into His image.

God knows about your struggles. He knows how loud and insistent the world can be.  Every day you seek him you are changed into His glory bit by bit, as you worship and stand in His presence.  The Bible promises that and God can't lie.

So this week as I worship God might be working on forgiveness.... next week it might be faithfulness.  I can guarantee you that He's the best potter in the universe!

People have asked me how I carry this great anointing on me; where they feel angels as soon as I start to worship.  It starts with the day to day seeking.  Just like all these barbie doll clothes started bit by bit he's working on me bit by bit.  You cannot go wrong seeking Him; spending time away with Him every day.  When I try to do what he shows me in the secret place I receive grace to do what He's called me to do.  He is the most amazing God!  And the best part is that what He has done for me He wants to do for you and 100x more than that!

So don't give up!  You're further than you've been before and you are closer to Him than you realize!
He who began a good work in you will finish it.   And that's a promise you can take to the bank!

I bless you in Jesus' name!
Big hugs,

Cameras, Video Editing and Power and Love!

Here's my video set up at church.  It's a bit messy because we don't have some pieces mounted on the wall yet, but that will get fixed eventually.

I'm getting better at multi-tasking.  I have this lap top recording some of the service and also transferring the last week's service to an external drive.  At the same time the dvd burner behind the lap top is directly burning the camera feed onto a dvd.  Amazing what technology can do!

This is allowing me to do most of the work at church so I don't always have to bring the lap top home.  It's amazing!  It's saving me at least 6 hours a week of editing, rendering and burning.

I'm still going out and sharing the good news of God's love.  This week I was in Ottawa at Michaels when I noticed that the cashier had these huge lumps on her arms.  I asked her if she was okay and she said that she's on kidney dialysis.  So I asked her if I could pray with her and I decreed healing over her, in Jesus' name.    I know but I know her kidneys are working now!  That was one of the first miracle's I ever saw!

Then I was at Walmart and I saw a lady with a mask over her face.  I asked her what was going on and she said that she had horrible allergies.  I asked if it was okay for me to bless her and she said, "Sure!' So I blessed her in Jesus' name and decreed that she could enjoy all creation without allergy or side effect from now on.  She was touched that I would stop and enquire about her health.   Amen!  She's getting better all the time!

Those are the encounters that really stand out to me.  I pray for people with headaches, colds and pain all the time.  I hate what the devil does to people.  Heaven on earth around me -- that's what I'm here to enforce!  I am his revival vessel and so are YOU!

Go and have a great day sharing the love of God with the people you meet and Don't forget your family!  They might not want to hear your words but they can't resist His Love, lol.  Sometimes when our light is shining bright the conviction brings out the worst in them.  Don't let it get to you!  Just know that in Jesus we win!

Big hugs,
Brenda Gale Thompson

Summer is almost here!

Hi.  I haven't dropped off the planet.  I have gotten my gardens going this year and I put in two hummingbird feeders so there wouldn't be so many fights.

Also, I have been riding my horse with a dear friend and it's been so much fun!
Here's me before we actually go out.

Anyhow, I was recently asked how I manage to keep smiling with all the work I do volunteering at church.  I think the key is to ask God how much you are supposed to do and only do that amount.  I'm having to get better at saying, "No."  And no means no.  No guilt trips will move me.  If God's not in it I don't want to do it.

Too many people get burnt out at churches with the work load and then they don't want to do anything.  I don't want to get to that point.  When I struggled with saying 'no' to people in authority over me I got a book out from the library about boundaries and how to enforce them.

You can only do so much!   It's not your responsibility to keep their world turning!   So make sure you take your day off a week and keep your relationship with God your top priority.   If you expect your reward from God you are doing well. If you are expecting promotion, recognition or opportunities from your Pastor etc. you might be disappointed.

Clear concise communication about what you can and can't do will help to avoid conflicts down the road.  It's so important.

I hope what I shared helps you to keep your priorities straight.  There's absolutely no point in getting so busy that you don't have time for God.  You can't replace that hour every day with him.  That's how the growth happens.  We think we're waiting on God to do something and all the while He's waiting for us to come away and just spend time with Him. It's tragic how easily the days slip by!

I am reminded of an acronym that Gloria Copeland uses...

S = Satan
C = Constantly
U = Uses
D = Distractions!

Therefore, let's keep scheduling in our time with God before the day fills up.

Bless you!
Big hugs,
Brenda Gale Thompson

Sunbeams

I had a crazy day recently.  It went by so fast that I didn't get the time to seek the Lord.   I was tired from a work out and all the gardening I did and I was going to bed when I heard Holy Spirit ask, "What do you see?"

I stopped and focussed on my spirit and I saw black and then a beautiful, golden sunbeam came streaming down to me.  It was gorgeous and it felt warm, refreshing and cleansing at the same time.  I could feel all the day's 'spiritual smog' burn off of me as I basked in this enveloping sunbeam.

I know that the Bible says that, "The son of righteousness will arise with healing in his wings and his beams..." (Mal. 4:2 Amp.)  It was a whole new experience to live the verse-- to have the Lord send down a special golden sunbeam, just for me.  I felt so refreshed as I enjoyed his love.   He wants to dote on us like a grandfather you know.  He looks for ways to brighten our day.  He loves to see us smile with delight at  a new discovery.

Anyhow,  the second part of that verse now  makes sense..." and you shall go forth and gambol (frolic) like calves [released] from the stall and leap for joy."  I felt so refreshed like a calf let out of the barn after a long, dark winter.  Now I understand how you can go from sunbeams to calves frolicking.  It's so obvious--now.

I went to bed that night with tears in my eyes reveling in the great, great love of Holy Spirit/Father God/Jesus.  I know I will never be the same.

May the Lord bless you 100x more what he has me and may you know His love that passes all understanding, in Jesus' name I ask. Amen!

Bless you more!
Big hugs,
Brenda Gale Thompson

Pentecost Today

This first was published in Come to the Table, a Facebook Group, May 24, 2013

Pentecost Today
Scripture Reading:  Acts 1:1-15, 2:1-21

When I think about Pentecost I think about what happened at the end.  What an explosive way to start a church!  As I'm sure you remember, Holy Spirit came down on everyone in the room like a huge wind and flames of fire appeared on people's heads.  People were baptized with Holy Spirit and started speaking in different languages as Holy Spirit led.  It was an amazing time.

What I tend to forget is all the stuff that happened while they were waiting.  Can you imagine 500 people waiting in a crowded room or building for God to show up?  Just the logistics boggle my mind!  I'm sure some people got turned off by the renovations that were always 'half-way done' and left.  I'm sure there were people who got tired of waiting and felt that they should be doing this or they could be doing that... and walked away.

I am also certain that in those cramped quarters people got upset with the leadership. After all,  look who the leaders were!  None other than, Peter, James and John-- the greatest deserters of all!  God surely couldn't use them after all they had done.

In those hot, stinky conditions who could pray for any length of time anyhow?  And look at brother so and so.  He's always hogging the speaker's place and trying to impress everyone.  Don't they know who he is?

Is it any wonder that the 500 people who saw Jesus after his resurrection whittled down to 120 within those 40 days?

I can see the same thing happening today.  I have talked to people from different churches across Ottawa and the valley and everybody knows that something is about to break, but we don't know what.   People are leaving churches, disengaging from churches or plain, not going to church.

Some are getting tired of leadership.  Others are getting tired of renovations.  There's a great uneasiness or dissatisfaction in the body-- almost like itchy feet.   We know something is up but we can't put our on thumbs on it.

So, I want to encourage you that you are not alone if any of this stuff has crossed your mind.  We are on the edge of a great, great move of God.

Holy Spirit woke me up last Sunday with these words, "I'm going to do something no one has dreamed of." (ref. 1Cor. 2:9)  I believe Him.  I've never, in all my 30+ years as a Christian, seen the body of Christ so uneasy.

The key I believe is to not lose our focus.  As we keep the big picture (the Kingdom advancing) the big thing in our lives God will sort out all the other stuff; renovations, leadership, volunteers, families, our lives and our dreams.

Did you know that Holy Spirit doesn't get upset with renovations?  He doesn't even get upset with leadership!  He's not remotely upset with your family members either.  I can see that I need to spend more time with Holy Spirit so that those things don't bother me either.

Let's Pray Out Loud:
"Thank You Lord for joy in our journey and for all your comfort and encouragement! Help us Lord to remember all the great things you are doing at our church.  Help us also to give grace to those around us when they disappoint us.  Help us to expect our rewards from you and not people.  And thank You Lord for using imperfect people, including us. Amen!"

Run a Strife Check

I wrote this for the Facebook Group, "Come To The Table" May 17, 2013
"Run a Strife Check"
Scripture: 1 Pet 3:3-6

I remember the time I was praying and praying and getting no answers. I was getting really frustrated, asking, "God don't you care? Can't you see what's going on here?"

I sat down after my kids were in bed and said, "That's it! I'm not leaving this chair till you tell me what's going on and how I can change this situation."

I had no clue where to go so I opened my Bible and it fell open at the page where this verse jumped out at me, " Where there is envy and strife there is every evil work." (James. 3:16)

Hello! God had my attention now. I was so frustrated and upset with my husband I could spit. Not good I know, but he didn't want to talk to me so any hope of discussing the issue was postponed for the moment.

I asked Holy Spirit what the big deal was and he told me to go to 1 Pet. 3.... As I started reading, it resonated in my spirit. It reads, "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight." (1 Pet 3:3-4)

That's a laugh. My Spirit was anything but gentle. I was born for war and I loved winning. A quiet spirit? Hmmm that needed some thought. How to have a quiet spirit....peaceful, content, relaxed where the connotations I got as I meditated on this verse.

I could see that I had some work ahead of me. I continued reading and then I got slammed by Holy Spirit as I read, "For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands, like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her lord. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear." (1 Pet 3:5&6)

Whoa, whoa, whoa! I couldn't believe God was telling me to defer or give in to my husband when he's wrong! I thought, "How stupid is that? I mean what's the point of having a brain if you're not allowed to use it!?"

Holy Spirit put up with my tirade for a bit and when I had quieted down he said it's a trust issue. You don't trust me enough to let me work on him for you. You're manipulating and controlling things to meet your own desires.

Nailed! Holy Spirit got me again. All I could say was, "You're right."

I had to start trusting Holy Spirit to work in my husband's life and not interfere. I wasn't allowed to control or manipulate situations to get what I wanted, no matter how much my flesh screamed. When I went to the Lord and complained, He responded, "Didn't you mean it when you said you wanted to be a living sacrifice for me? Didn't you mean it when you said that you would pay any price to carry my glory?"

He was right, I just wasn't expecting that my cross would be so hidden and inglorious.

So, while I was waiting for the Lord to work on my husband he was working on me. I learned how to go to him for strength for the day, for help when I didn't get the sleep I thought I needed, for comfort when I didn't get the support I thought I needed, for protection when we came under attack, for provision when the money ran out ahead of the bills, for good teaching when I was alone.

I can look back and thank God for all the hard times cause it's made me so much stronger in God. I know with certainty that there's a promise for every situation I'll ever face and that my God is backing me to the hilt. And Praise God I even found some scriptures to help me to become a gentler woman! Hallelujah!

So now when my prayers aren't getting answered I immediately ask the Lord where have I missed it or dishonored my leaders (husband, pastors, etc.) I've finally learned how to keep my heart with all diligence! Yahoo! God's good!

I hope my story helps you avoid some of the pitfalls I went through!

Bless you today!

Constant Fellowship

I wrote this for the Facebook group "Come to the Table" May 15, 2013
Enjoy!

Constant Fellowship

For this is what the high and exalted One says-- he who lives forever, whose name is holy: "I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite. (Is. 57:15)

I love this verse because of what it means for us. God is promising to live with us, to be in constant fellowship with us as we are real and humble before him, in all situations we face in life. He's promising to revive the humble and repentant ones. I think we can all qualify for His kind of Revival!

As I am in this fellowship with Him, I love how Holy Spirit is always encouraging, always hopeful, always full of laughter and how he helps me to see the funny side of things. He's always telling me, "It's not as bad as you think!" You see, I'm naturally a serious person, and before I got to know the Lord I was Way too uptight!" Holy Spirit is so good at helping me see the humor in life. Thank God for all his comforts!

Personal journaling:
How has the Lord revived you when you were low?
Have you seen His encouragement when you didn't think you would ever make it?
Has he whispered your name lately?

Let's pray out loud... "Lord we come to you and ask for your encouragement today. Tell us things we don't know yet and show us the way to go. Make our lives count for Your Kingdom, in Jesus' name we ask. Amen!"

Further Reading:
Scripture: Psalm 51:17, Isa. 66:2, Micah 6:8 and
Rom. 15:5-6, "May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Bless you!

Trends

I am noticing a trend these days.    Many dear people who have gone on holidays  have come back under attack instead of refreshed.  This should not be so!

I wouldn't have put it together if it hadn't been happening so consistently.   People getting hurt, accidents,  disappointments coming back, weariness about the work load, frustration that things aren't changing fast enough...  it's been a real onslaught!

So.... better late than never let's claim God's promises for our friends and families.

Thank you Lord that our friends and families get refreshed when they go on holidays.  Let them come back pumped up with the good things You want to do at church.  Lord, help us all to remember the good things that are happening at our churches and not the things that irritate us. Ignite passion in our hearts for all you want to do.  Help us to keep our hearts clean and to extend mercy, grace and forgiveness to others.   Help us to communicate effectively and give us wisdom about what to do and how much to do.  Thank you Lord that because we love your word, nothing can cause us to stumble or take offense.  Thank You Lord for healing every person that has been hurt in any way.   Help us Lord to not become weary in our outreach because we know this is Your work and your kingdom. Amen!

On the good side 6 un-churched people asked Jesus into their hearts in the last few weeks and many have been healed of all kinds of back problems and arthritis.

Bless you!
Brenda Gale Thompson

p.s.   Let's claim refreshing because, "He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed!" (ref. Prov. 11:25)

Complaining Trend

Someone I know was having a rough couple of weeks and they were talking to me.    I prayed for them and later that day another person was having a hard time with someone in leadership, so I encouraged them and we prayed for healing and restoration.

The next day I was helping someone out and they had a list of complaints a mile long about church and problems there.   I couldn't help but notice a trend there.

I asked the Lord what his take was on all these legitimate complaints.  You know what he said? He said, "Your leaders are works in progress just like you are.  Don't expect perfection from them until you are perfect yourself."

Contrary to popular belief,  God is working on them just like he is working on us..... but the area he's working on might not be the area that bugs you the most.

I too have had my share of trouble with persons in leadership, surprise, surprise.  I wouldn't be human if it weren't so.   The Lord has opened my eyes to see the bigger picture and to see the damage that can be done to a church by disappointment and offense.

The Problem is.... there are only so many churches to go to and if you leave offended at one you're enlisting in God's 'wilderness wandering game'.  No thank you.  Been there before and I want to move on to the next level.

I am not by any means saying that our church has it all together.  On the contrary, I can see some gaping holes and areas that need improvement.

So I am going to share some wise words a couple of my mentors shared with me years ago.

The First is never leave a church with offense in your heart.  Always ask God to heal  you up first and try to leave on good standing, not the superficial, "Thanks,  I'm called out. Good bye."   This will help you grow in Christ. If you can't leave the way you want because of situations outside your control, then pursue healing in the new church you go to.

Second, when a leader starts claiming he/she's something great etc. and it rubs you the wrong way, pause and think about it.  Is the person saying this to excuse a character flaw or are they attempting to, 'call those things that be not as though they were?" Usually if it rubs you the wrong way it's because you have had their flaws cause you personal pain.  It's time to seek the Lord and find the balance in your life.  God, family, work then church is the way most ministry leaders advise people to prioritize your lives.

I remember something a leader said when one of his helpers quit his job and stated he was going to go preach the gospel for a living.  This person said to themselves, "Why this guy can't preach himself out of a garbage can! He'll be out of money in a month!"  Holy Spirit quickly spoke up to this man, "Then help him!"   That quieted this leader.  So many other people were quick to tell the would be preacher that he would never make it and that he better go back to his regular job but this leader would not join in their criticism or judgement. Time marched on and the would be preacher did become successful, praise God!

Are you wondering who the leader was?   Kenneth Copeland! And the would be preacher was Jerry Savelle! What a loss it would be to the body of Christ without Jerry Savelle's Ministry!  He has helped countless people around the globe get a handle on the basics of faith--myself included!

So when I hear a leader claiming great titles I remember that story and I figure I can be on the helping side which is Holy Spirit, or I can be on the devil's side which is criticizing and judging.  No thank you.  I am Not going there.  Yes, the attacks are real and yes sometimes leaders get puffed up.  God's able to correct them without my help... I know that now.

I encourage  you to give all your expectations of what leadership should and should not be over to the Lord daily.  That's what I am learning to do.  As I look at God in praise and worship it gets easier and easier to do this.  Let's pray...

Lord we need your help to love people through the unlovely situations we face daily.  Let your love and peace we shed abroad  in our hearts.  Give us your hope that you are able to change us and the situations around us.  We ask for joy and humor in our daily journey with you. Bind us all together in your love and thank you for unity of spirit in our churches.  Thank You for helping us look past our hurts to the beauty you are creating in the people around us and in us.  Thank You Lord for time with you and for transforming our hearts so we want to spend more time with you every day. Amen!

Bless you!

It's HOT in Revival!

You would think we were in the fires of Revival, the way the warfare intensifies before the Friday night healing service!

So many thought attacks going something like this:

1.  You're too tired to go to the service
2.  You have better things to do.
3.  No one appreciates all you do.
4.  No one is going to miss you if you don't go.
5.  People are just using you.
6.  What's the point anyhow?
7.  Heaviness, despondency, broken promises, etc., etc., etc.,

The List goes on and on.
We have to be sharp to catch these little thoughts before they can derail God's purposes in our lives.

Here are some confessions that  have worked for me.

Re: 1. Thank You Jesus that you arm me with your strength and power and you make my way perfect. Thank you Lord Jesus that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. (2Sam. 22:33, 2Cor. 12:9)

Re: 2.   Thank You Lord that you are ordering my steps today because I love your word. (Ps.119:133)  Thank you Lord that You go before me and prepare the way for me.  Thank You Lord that I determine to walk in the spirit and not my flesh.  I command my mind, will and emotions to line up with the word of God. (ref. Rom 8:11-12)  I seek those things that are above and not below.  I determine to press on in Jesus' name. (ref.Col. 3:1-2, Phil.3:12)

Re: 3  Thank you Lord that YOU reward your people who work in the ministry and in your word. (Is. 40:10, Prov. 13:13) Thank You Lord for meeting every need so that I can give on every occasion and have a surplus left over. (2Cor. 9:11) I sow my volunteer work as seed into your kingdom and I expect to reap 100 fold return now, in Jesus' name. (ref. Gen. 8:22)

Re: 4.   Thank You Lord that I am a part of the army of Christ and that I am important to you.  Thank You Lord that as I worship and praise you I am opening a portal of glory and all the people around me will be impacted by it. Let your Kingdom come and your will be done today in my life.

Re: 5. Thank You Lord that I do my work as unto the Lord and not to man.  Lord, I thank you for leading me and guiding me by your spirit.  Thank You for Balance in my life, Lord.  Help me to always look after my own personal walk with you so that I don't burn out. (ref. Song 1:6b)  Thank You Lord that I WILL be faithful, I will be found faithful in all your house. (Prov. 20:6, 28:20) I refuse to be downcast or disturbed because I know that I can praise you! (Ps. 42:5,11)

Re:6.  The Bible promises that we are changed from glory to glory in his presence.  (ref. 2Cor. 3:18) If all you can do is drive to church and crawl to the front  and stand or lay in His presence as others worship-- do it! The testimonies every week are proof enough! I determine to recount all the miracles and testimonies I've seen already and I determine to stretch my faith to believe for greater miracles and different types of miracles.  I decree that no one goes home the same in Jesus' name!

Re: 7.  Thank You Lord for showing me what's going on in the spirit realm.  Thank you Lord for these words of knowledge and I decree that Your will is being done today, that lots of people are doing to come and help us bring in the harvest, look after all the babies and raise up disciples.

Thank you Lord for rewarding the volunteers and for leading and guiding us today. Thank you for greater fruitfulness in Your vineyard. Thank You for harvest angels, revival angels and all your other angels that are helping us.  Thank You Lord for sending out more (prepared) laborers into the harvest fields.  Thank you for strengthening us with your might from on High.  Thank you Lord for encouraging us every day. Amen!

I hope this helps you.   Yes, we are in the hot fires of Revival-- and there's no place I'd rather be!!
In this Revival there are no 'Lone Rangers' anymore.  When we get under attack it's important to fight back right away with the right words so we can stay free and help others stay free.  Good friends that you can pray with are a must!

Food for thought.....  What areas do you get attacked in on Fridays?  Can you use one of the answers I've listed to help you through it?

Bless you, in Jesus' Name!

Waiting on the Lord

The Lord told me over a year ago that if I wanted to help birth this huge revival that I needed to spend 90% of my anointing on Him.  I have taken him at his word because he can't lie and He doesn't change.   He was the one who said that the pure in heart would see His face.  I am taking that promise to the bank.

That means that I haven't gone out to do much prophetic evangelism and I only went out to preach at a church once last year -- mind you I did prophesy over every person there, lol.  Most of my time was spent serving at my local church and waiting on the Lord.

Waiting on God is never a waste of time because it intensifies the anointing on you.  I led a little girl to the Lord a week or so ago.  I've been getting really accurate words of knowledge for people as I drive around and they've been healed. Just today I was able to share with a lady about the meetings at Kinburn and she wanted to know about God so I shared about getting saved, dreams and interpretation and I testified about all the different types of healings I've seen at Kinburn Revival.

Also, I went shopping  two weeks ago and I witnessed to the clerk, gave out some tracts to some young teens that were wandering around and I loved on a lady that God showed me was really lonely.

I want to encourage you to wait on the Lord every day.  He will give you your marching orders and make your time really fruitful.  We all want to make a difference right?  Lord, show us how!

On that note, here is a really good clip by Dave Reid, about the rewards of waiting on the Lord...
  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBl-QzkVaXo

The Lord gave me a verse to help me be tenacious.  It's Is. 42:4, "I will not falter or be discouraged until your justice is established in the whole world."  AMEN!  We won't quit or be discouraged. We build ourselves up in our most holy faith by praying in other tongues. We do seek the Lord while he may be found. We are bold and courageous because we study His word (Bible).

Here's the latest video clip of myself at church sharing a vision that the Lord gave me.  Let it ignite your heart to seek Him More!   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RP92N5zfKXc

Bless you!

Going to the Next Level

Sammy Robinson identified the spirit stopping us from going to the next level. He called in and insidious spirit.  Insidious means "Proceeding in a gradual, subtle way, but with harmful effects: "the insidious effects of stress" or "Treacherous; crafty: "an insidious alliance".

Then he  warned us about losing our voice and to guard our voice.  This can happen so easily as we try to maintain some semblance of peace in our homes or workplaces.  However, it has a huge price tag.  We are called to war! "The Kingdom of God suffers violence and the violent take it by force".

The next time someone starts to openly mock or taunt me I'm not going to walk away I'm going to pray in tongues and then speak what Holy Spirit leads.  Enough is enough!   Lord help us to separate the enemy from the people around us.  Help us to recognize the evil spirits.   Shed your love abroad in our hearts and help us to be bold and courageous for You!  Amen!

Have a great day!

Barbie Doll Clothes and Seeking God

Barbie doll clothes for my grand daughters took lots of time to make!   I sort of redeemed the time by listening to good preaching while I was knitting or crocheting.  I did try to buy them on line but I couldn't find any.   I didn't realize how hard they would be to find.

In any case between doing all the video editing till Brian gets back and my two jobs I have been a busy beaver.  And guess what? Every day I get the song from Holy Spirit,  "I seek the Lord with all my heart...."  and "Surely, surely, surely I will come...."  which is my cue to spend time with the Lord-- away from everybody.

You ask me how I get everything done and I just want to laugh.  It's God!  There's no way I can get all the stuff done on my list.  I know it!  I sometimes look back at my days and all the things I've accomplished and I know it's only by his grace and power.  There aren't enough hours in the day to get done all the stuff I've been doing.   And I haven't burnt out!

I think that's why God has been telling me to spend time with him.  I'm recharging my batteries while I am with him.   That's not to say that I haven't had times where I'm fighting my mind to focus on the Lord, or I start thinking of all the things I have to do.  It happens a lot!  But Holy Spirit tells me write this down, or "do this first' or  'wait on that project' and then it's easy to put those concerns out of my mind.    The bonus is that my day then goes so much more smoothly and is so productive.

Anyone who thinks they don't have time to seek the Lord doesn't know that you can never out give God.  Holy Spirit always pays me back with extra bonuses along the way.

Not only does my day go better but it's so precious when you just whisper his name and boom!  his presence and angels are instantly around you.   That's pretty amazing stuff.

The other day I heard the call to seek him and I started up the stairs to my bedroom.  I felt his presence and got this song, "Sunrise, sunset, sunrise, sunset...".  That's all I could remember of the song and it didn't mean much, so I forgot about it and spent time in the Bible as Holy Spirit directed and sang the songs he wanted to hear.

Later, I looked up the song to get the rest of the words and here it's a Jewish Marriage song!  What a blessing!  Holy Spirit was telling me that I was becoming more like his bride as I sought his presence above all else.  Praise the Lord!

Now wouldn't you like to have Holy Spirit give you that song too?    It's not that difficult.  Just ask Holy Spirit to lead into becoming one of the ten virgins that had oil in their lamps.  He'll lead you and direct you along the way.  He's forever faithful!

I also have lots of good articles and songs about seeking the Lord in my blog.  Just look up 'seek'  in the search bar at the top of this page.

God's no respecter of persons.  What he has done for me he wants to do for you.  That's good news.

Have a great day with him!
Big hugs,
Brenda Gale

Rain comes....

Rain Comes...

Hi there.  Pastor Perry shared some amazing insights when he preached on Sunday.  Link for Perry's short video

When we got laid off from our jobs, one day apart, we were faithful tithers,   partners with several ministries, and helpers at church and in the community.

It hit us like a landslide and caused some serious doubts.   It was when I heard that 'rain comes to the righteous and the unrighteous'  (ref. Mat. 5:45) that I realized that being a 'good' christian doesn't always mean that  you will be protected from hardship.

On the contrary, our steps are ordered by God and he uses whatever he wants to mold us into his image.  The Bible says to endure hardship like a good soldier (ref. 2Tim. 2:3)

I found out how addicted to comfort we were! A lot of extras had to go as we adjusted our lifestyles.  It has been an interesting journey, to say the least!

Things turned around when I started to dig into the word of God and get serious with my confessions and praise and worship.   Thank God for the power of his word!  Thank God for the power of the blood of Jesus!  Thank God for Holy Spirit who teaches, counsels and encourages us!

Watch the video and be encouraged!

Bless you!

Let the Fear of God be Upon me

Pic is courtesy of Photobucket.com

Hi there.  After I wrote the post, "More Glory if I pay the Price" I thought I should share this song that the Lord gave me years ago about walking in the fear of God.  It has helped me so much!   The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and leads to life.  Hallelujah!

Whenever I think I am being flippant about the grace and mercy the Lord has shown me I start singing this song and it helps to get me back on track.  I thought I had it recorded properly but it wasn't so that took me a bit of time.

Here it is and may it help you as much as it's helped me.   http://youtu.be/0imIWykY5bQ

Col. 3:5-10 "Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator." (Italics & underline are mine)

Sounds easy eh?  No, it's not.  If it was we would all be sinless!  On our own we can't do this. However,  the more we fill up on Holy Spirit and the word, the more we will desire the good things of God.

Here's another key to bring you closer to victory. "When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death." (James 1:13-15)

This passage says that  we are tempted to sin by our own evil desires.  Only as we recognize that the fruit of our sin is a form of death, will we hate the sin enough to want to get free from it.  Therefore, let's keep asking for fear of the Lord because it's 'the beginning of wisdom' and the start of recognizing the fruit of death that our sin is leading to.

On that note I am going to keep singing that song, lol.
Blessings,
Brenda Gale Thompson

God knows the End from the Beginning

Is. 46:10. "I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.
I say, ‘My purpose will stand and I will do all that I please."

He knows the end from the beginning.  Hallelujah!   All my days were written in His book.

God hid our destiny in the core of our being.  We are already on the road.  We might just need to find the road marks.  Visions, dreams and prophetic words will confirm what Holy Spirit shows us in our daily seeking times.

photo from Photobucket.com
God's road map is unfolding  as we walk in awareness of Him.  As we focus on Him we operate at peak performance.  No more self consciousness.

Be God aware, not self aware.

Being God aware helps us to recognize all the miracles that are happening in our lives from day to day.   Face up with a miracle.  Believe that they happen.  A meaningful coincidence is a little miracle.

Being thankful guards us against complaining... which keeps God's blessings flowing.  The quickest way to stop God's blessing is to be ungrateful.

So step out and trust God that he's able to steer you.  He's already programmed you.  He knows all the divine connections you need to make. As you stay  in a praising, thankful attitude you can be guarenteed to make all the right connections along the way.  No moments wasted.  What a concept!

Have a great day with Holy Spirit!
Big hugs,
Brenda Gale Thompson

An Oasis

Pic from wikipedia.com
I will never forget the first time I went to West Carleton Christian Assembly (Kinburn Revival).  It was on a blustery Friday night, Jan. 1st as I remember.  There weren't many cars in the parking lot but I didn't care.  I had heard that God's presence was welcomed there and I was desperate for living water.

Just a few weeks earlier the church I used to go to had a guest speaker and his band ministering.  I was praising and dancing like a fool at the back of the church when a lady commented on how hard I was dancing.  I told her that I was so desperate for a breakthrough that if God told me to dance naked I would have.  That ended that conversation!

So anyhow, I got to this church I heard about  and had to wait for someone to unlock the door.  When I walked in I could feel in the spirit that it was different.  I started to pray and seek the Lord and the service started soon after.  When they invited worshipers to the front I was thrilled!  That's my favorite place to be!  It's so much easier to focus on the Lord when there's no one in front of you, at least for me it is.

During the worship the Lord told me to lay down on the floor. I hesitated and then thought, "What have I got to lose?"  Well did the Lord ever minister to me!  A fellow came by and told me to sit up a couple of times so he could give me a prophetic word and I couldn't!  I was pinned to the floor by an invisible force and I felt Holy Spirit taking away layers of pain and disappointment.  It was awesome!   I didn't want to get back up.  Wave after wave of love and encouragement flooded my soul and healed my heart.

This church has been an oasis for so many people.  This song goes out to all the people looking for an oasis.  May you find one within driving range soon!

More Glory! If I pay the price...

The Lord has been telling me to spend more time with him again.  He wants me to drop all the other good stuff and just spend time with him alone.  My family has been through this before so they are used to it, Thank God.  For all my friends that I should be calling this article will have to suffice for now.

I was asking the Lord why we are not seeing the breakthroughs we've been praying for and the Lord told me to get more control over my mouth.  I have been learning about slander but I never realized how common slurring people has become in our society.

A slur can be a number of things: an insulting or disparaging remark or innuendo or  words that have a shaming or degrading effect.  It can also mean to cast aspersions on someone or to depreciate a person's value.

The sad thing is that it's so easy to do, especially with family members.  Most of the time people don't realize they are doing it.  They have a stronghold of complaining and it leads to slurring their loved ones.

I asked the Lord what happens when I slur someone and the Lord showed me how my slurring someone puts a grey fog around them in the spirit realm so that the blessings of God are blocked and they have a hard time hearing God.  That woke me up!  Slurring by a Christian is tantamount to cursing them, plain and simple.

Now you do that to your husband, son or daughter once a day and you've blocked the blessings of God on them. The devil has used your mouth to stop God's kingdom from advancing.

This is serious stuff!  I need to get a better grip on my mouth and what I speak about!
I've been asking the Lord to help me recognize when this happens so I can repent out loud and get the person I'm talking to to agree with me for blessing our loved ones instead.  After all, it's only by God's grace that I am not doing ten times worse than them!

If complaining was all it took to stop the Israelies from entering their promised land, what makes me think that I will be able to keep complaining and enter my promised land?

Now you all know me and you know I've been working on my mouth.  This post is not meant to be hard on you but more of a self-confession so that you don't make the same mistakes as I have, lol.   If I can save you some pain or grief then I am all for it.

Here are some confessions that I've been renewing my mind with:

Lord, please give me more fear of You so I won't want to sin against you.  I know that the reverential fear of you leads to life. (ref. Prov. 19:23)

Thank You Lord  that the reverential fear of you is Life and that he/she who has it will rest untouched by evil. (Prov. 19:23 NEB)

Thank You Lord helping me to recognize when I am complaining or slurring someone.  I want to live by your standard, not the world's standard.

Thank You Lord for helping me to hate sin the way you do so that I won't want any part of it.  Show me how much you love my family members and the people I would tend to slur; politicians, bosses, leaders, pastors, etc., etc.  I choose to speak blessings over them instead, on purpose!

I am going to end with Psalm 15.  It's a special psalm for those who want to live in God's presence.

Psalm 15

A psalm of David.

Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent?
Who may live on your holy mountain?
The one whose walk is blameless,
    who does what is righteous,
    who speaks the truth from their heart;
whose tongue utters no slander,
who does no wrong to a neighbor,
    and casts no slur on others;
who despises a vile person
    but honors those who fear the Lord;
who keeps an oath even when it hurts,
    and does not change their mind;
who lends money to the poor without interest;
who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
Whoever does these things
will never be shaken. (bold highlights are mine)

Bless you!
