When I think of mercy seat I think of the Old Testament and the Arc of the Covenant. The angels of God were seated on top of the mercy seat and that's where the presence of God was.
Interestingly enough after Jesus died the veil that separated the holy place from the most holy place was rent and the presence of God left the temple.
Now as Christians we know that after we ask Jesus to come into our lives and be our Lord and Savior that we have a new presence inside of us. We have literally become a living 'holy of holies'. A miracle of regeneration has taken place to the point where our sin is not just covered like it was in the old testament but it's completely done away with as if it never happened. This allows his presence to flow through us as we walk in love.
I know this to be true because even as a baby believer God used me. I was so wet behind the ears that I didn't know anything about healing or deliverance protocol, yet God used me at work, at school and even on buses to set people free. The only condition was that I cared and prayed in tongues. Holy Spirit always showed me what to say or do. You can never go wrong asking the Lord to use you today. It's the fastest way I know to a fulfilling life. He will take you at your word and use you everywhere you go, as long as you stay available.
I have personally wondered at how people can remain sick around Christians and I asked the Lord how come this was happening. His said one of the reasons was that Christians had not spoken words of healing or blessing out loud. I have since made it my goal to ALWAYS pray out loud in every situation. It might get a bit inconvenient praying for people's needs at the stop light or in the grocery store, but that's all right. I am working for the applause of Heaven--not people.
I do not want to quench any nudge that Holy Spirit gives. I love it when I drive down a street and all of a sudden I know that someone has a kidney problem or a heart problem. I love to release his healing and miracle working power everywhere I go. I love Holy Spirit's smile when I claim everywhere I drive as a highway of Holiness.
I love walking into my church and even as I am setting up the video camera and computer the Joy of the Lord hits me. I Love it when Holy Spirit shows me what he's going to do during the service. I love it when I get to call out words of knowledge and see all the people get healed. I love how happy Holy Spirit is when the ministry team are praying for people. I love to walk behind them and put prayer clothes on the people (if we're not too busy). I love to see the shadows (demonic) leaving people.
I never dreamed that life could be so fulfilling. The only thing I'd like more is to stay with him instead of coming back here.... but it's not yet time. There's so much more to do.
I want to encourage you to ask the Lord to use you. He wants to. There is no life like it. The joy he gives is better than any drug I ever tried (and I tried a bunch). Every little step of obedience brings delight to his heart and he is so encouraging. I can't help but encourage others because He's given me so much.
Here's the latest song I did about being his mercy seat. Enjoy!

I Bless you right now. May you feel his love in a whole new way today. May the fire and passion of his love burn bright in your heart and may you hear and know how pleased he is with you. Amen!

Can Dead Bones Live, Lord?
"When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place." (2Chron. 7:13-15)
I have always loved these verses. God gave me such a passion and a zeal for the things of God that I wondered at times why he moved me to the Ottawa valley. I asked God "Why?"
He responded, "You are my catalyst here." Hmmm, I am not sure if that was a good thing or not. I have ruffled a few feathers, raised a few eyebrows etc., etc. and generally challenged the status quo over the years.
I was very encouraged when the Lord gave me this song, I even got to sing it at my church (my old church). The only problem was they didn't like it. Oh well, it's still a good song. My husband thought it was because they assumed they were the dead bones my song was talking about. In my naivety I never even thought about that possibility. Oops!
Anyhow, I figured the song out on the keyboard and had some fun with the vocals. Enjoy!

Keeper of the Flame
Over a year ago we had a preacher come to our church and talk about revival. He had been a part of the Brownsville revival and had some great stories that he shared. He mentioned how many ministries were birthed out of the revival and then said something that I couldn't forget. He talked about how in all the business and people going out and spreading the revival that there needs to be a keeper of the flame.
I started wondering about what it meant to be a keeper of the flame and I felt Holy Spirit nudging me to dig a little deeper. I had never heard of this term before so I started to ask the Lord what it meant. What Holy Spirit kept saying is that he needs a prayer warrior to protect and keep the flame burning.
Charles Finney had an intercessor who used to go ahead of him to prepare the town or city for a visitation of God. Maria Woodsworth-Etter had prayer warriors who linked up with her to help bring the revival fire to the places God called her to. Smith Wigglesworth had a precious daughter who supported him in prayer mightily.
Through out history we see intercessors-- those who stand in the gap between God and man, joining up with revivalists to bring God's purposes to pass in the earth.
I felt Holy Spirit asking us if we would sign up to be "Keepers of the Flame", for a season. I believe there are many that are feeling the call to intercede for the Great Awakening that God wants to bring to North America.
It has not been hard either. If you can worship the King and pray kingdom prayers you are doing it already. So let's keep praying the Lord's prayer over our land and our nation. Let's worship the King in spirit and in truth and watch to see what He wants to say to us. ( Matt. 6:9-15, 2Chron. 7:14-16, John 4:23) There is great grace upon those who sign up to be used in God's army.
Like I read somewhere, "The History books will be kind to us because we intend to write them." Let's keep that quote in mind as we go about our business with a song and a prayer on our hearts.
I keep hearing that, the king is enthralled with our beauty. (Psalm 45:11) Ha! That's worth something... to think that the King of Kings desires our beauty. Amazing and very humbling at the same time. Let's be like Esther and go through all the beauty preparations that are available! (ref. Esther 2:12)
I bless you as you go today. May you bless the Father's heart with your songs and prayers today. May you hear his, "Well done!" as you seize the moments to advance the kingdom of God. Amen!

Break my Heart
Break my heart... Huh? Those are dangerous words. Are you wondering why I'm writing this?
I am writing this because I saw a lady today crossing a parking lot with a decided limp and I didn't do anything about it!
What's wrong with me? I was sitting in my car, waiting for my daughter to finish work and I had nothing to do. She walked haltingly into the McDonalds and I wondered what had happened to her but didn't think to go pray for her. A few minutes later she came out with her McDonalds with her little bag of fast food and she stopped by to comment about my dog Scoobie. Just a few seconds... but if I had been with it, I would have capitalized on the opportunity to ask her about her back.
What bugs me the most is that I used to do this kind of thing all the time and I saw many people touched by God.
I am thinking that I am too complacent. It's almost like a sleepiness is trying to come over me so that I slip into apathy. Been there, done that... almost a boredom. I cannot allow this to happen! It doesn't get any better than seeing Heaven manifest on the earth!
Jesus paid such a huge price for me to have the power of God flowing through my hands and words.
"Lord, please break my heart with the things that break Yours. Help me to keep my heart tender to hear Your gentle voice. I humble myself under Your mighty hand. Forgive me of all the opportunities I have wasted and give me another chance. Help me not to spend my days frivolously. Guide me to the right teaching and show me how to keep Your fire burning all the time. I decree that I am on fire for You forever and that I am bold because I am righteous and that I capitalize on opportunities to share and pray for people. Let Your kingdom come in my life and Your will be done in my life today. Amen!"
May we always be passionate for our Lord and Savior! Amen!
Bless you!

Seeking God for an Awakening
Hi there..... It's come to me that there is a greater awakening needed in North America. Billye Brim mentioned this when she came to Ottawa last month and the Lord confirmed it to me. The veil of unbelief over our nations must be broken. Miracles, signs and wonders are happening all over the world and I want it here. Yes, there are a few hot spots, but largely the masses in North America have not been reached --yet.
God promised that in the last days we would have an outpouring that would be greater than the former. I am contending for it. (Joel 2:23) He's promised that the glory of the latter house would exceed the former house. ( Haggai 2:9) It's time Saints. If we don't go after the promise who will? The Lord is looking for those who will stand in the gap interceding for the nations. (Ex. 22:30)
The Lord told me one time that if I would spend an hour with Him everyday I would see breakthroughs like I never had before. It has worked before for me, so I am going back to what works. He has promised that He will work for those who wait on Him. (Is. 64:4)
So that means putting aside what is good to pursue the best. On that note, I won't be posting as much for a while. I have lots of good ideas to write about some day, but right now North America needs an awakening!
If you agree with me let's pray: "Lord help us to lay aside complacency and lethargy. Give us a passion to pursue You, faith to believe Your promises, discernment to know Your voice and grace and camaraderie with our family members. In Jesus' name we ask. Amen!"
