How to Stay Strong.

First thing in the morning... last thing at night.
I have been at this Christian walk a long time.... over 30 years and people used to tell me to slow down or I was going to burn out.  I am here to tell you that you don't have to.

Some things I have learned along the way are to keep going to my daily devotionals.  I have two from KCM, Faith to Faith and Pursuit of his Presence.  There have been others along the way but those two have gone the distance.

I also have had books along the way to help me speak the right things over my life and to help me turn my belief system around.  My book shelf is full of encouraging,  faith-filled books.

I keep a daily journal where I write down the things God tells me during the day and the songs I have been singing.  At the back I write down all the scripture decrees he has showed me for quick reference so I can go over them every day and make them part of my life.  Many of the 'confessions' in this blog are from the back of my journals!

I talk to the Lord like he's right beside me and I listen for his answers.  I try to make time to check in with him many times a day.  He doesn't mind me being a question box as long as I listen for his response. The Psalmist sang, "Evening and morning and at noon will I utter my complaint and moan and sigh, and He will hear my voice." (Ps. 55:17) I am not saying you always have to complain but it shows how interested God is in hearing us!

I try to live by the verse which says, "Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts." (Col. 3:16 NLT)  I try to sing in tongues or English most of the day.

Daily bible reading is a big help.  If the Bible is 'dry' I will look up the reference scriptures that the daily devotionals suggest, or look up the scriptures that I heard from the last meeting.  Sometimes I ask Holy Spirit if there's somewhere he wants me to go to answer a question I have had.  Many times I just ask Holy Spirit to give me a greater love for his word.  He's faithful to answer if we ask.

I keep a very short account with God.  I literally will not go to bed if I know that I have offended or hurt someone. I go humble myself and ask forgiveness.... especially to my children and husband.  There have been times when they were in the wrong and still Holy Spirit would ask me to go humble myself and just offer forgiveness.  Blessed are the peacemakers!

These are just a few of the ways that I have kept the fire burning hot over the last thirty years.  If I can do it, you can do it because God is no respecter of persons! (ref. Acts. 10:34)

Have a great day with him! I bless you with the courage to do what Holy Spirit is asking you to do.  The joy he gives makes any sacrifice worth while. There is nothing like it this side of Heaven!

Winter Colds & Sickness

We don't have to be sick every winter.  Really,  we don't.   Sometimes we curse ourselves when we speak words like, "I always get sick in the winter." or "I get every cold that comes around."

Sometimes it is words that family or friends have spoken over us that have opened the door for these spirits of sickness to attack us every winter.  This often happens when we are children and don't know not to receive it and the words become a perpetual curse.

So to start, I would break the curse in Jesus' name then start renewing your mind. God has given us authority to bind and loose things. We need to take this privilege seriously.  Whatever we bind on Earth is bound in Heaven and whatever we loose on Earth is loosed in Heaven. (ref. Matt. 16:19)

Thank You Lord that I prosper and I'm in health as my soul prospers. You want me whole and healthy in all seasons. (ref. 3John 2)
Thank You Lord that I am strong in you and my immune system fights off every virus. (ref. Eph. 6:10)
Thank You Lord that I am protected from secondary infections in Jesus name.
Thank you Lord for protecting me from the plague (pneumonia) that tries to attack me. (Psalm 91)

Here's a blog post that's full of good confessions to use to renew your mind.
http://www.greatcommissionhow2s.blogspot.com/2011/10/confessions-for-hospital-patient.html

Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. (ref. Rom. 10:17)  Fear comes by hearing and hearing the word of the devil.  You choose what you listen to and receive in your heart.

Did you know that you believe what you say more than you believe what anybody else says?   Yes it's true.  Therefore you and I need to  line up our words with Heaven and give the angels something to work with.  They hearken to the voice of his word through us.  (ref. Psalm 103:20)

Have fun!
I bless you in Jesus' name!

You Can't Always Win With Another Man's Sword

The only sword that is going to work for you 100% of the time is the sword you carry.   In the same way you can't stand 100% of the time as a Christian unless you have a revelation of God's promises that pertain to your situation.

The good news is  that you can sharpen your sword anytime you want.  The word is always available. As you start to personalize it and apply it to your situation, revelation will come and then you won't put up with anything less then victory.

As you use your sword and realize that God won't put you in a battle you can't win, you will get the chance to win battles for others that don't know the Lord or don't know the word of God. (2Cor. 2:14)

I'm going to share the revelation the Lord gave me years ago.  Sometimes the Lord gives you a word or a chapter that He wants you to dig into.  Well this time it was Psalm 29.

"Ascribe to the Lord, O mighty  ones, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness."  (Psalm 29:1-2) That's our job.  As we choose to speak out loud all the thanks and praise God deserves he inhabits our praise.  This is the prerequisite for the rest of the psalm. Are you interested?

Verse 3 was highlighted to me. It goes, "The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of Glory thunders over the mighty waters."....

As I started to ruminate over this verse and ask Holy Spirit questions  I realized that He wanted me to start declaring this. We are the ones speaking  for the Lord as we offer ourselves living sacrifices and obey Holy Spirit's prompting. (Ps. 103:20, Rom 12:1-2, 2Cor. 4:13)

This is how the Lord told me to personalize  this Psalm.
The voice of the Lord though me is over the waters; the God of glory thunders through me, the Lord  thunders over the mighty waters through me.
The voice of the Lord through me, is powerful; the voice of the Lord through me is majestic... etc.

You get the point.  God wants us to get stronger in Him. Reading Colossians,  chapters 1 and 2 are really helpful.  Holy Spirit, the anointed one and His anointing is in us. (Col 1:26)  Also, the anointing we have received abides in us. (1John 2: 21,27)  We have been given all authority and power, (Luke 18:19) and the victory that Jesus won He wants us to enforce. He is waiting till we make all His enemies His footstool. (Heb. 10:13)   He bet the devil so bad, he (Jesus) led them in a triumphant procession and He's given His victory to us. (Col 2:13-15, Acts 2:8, 1John 4:17)  He is the first born of many brothers/sisters. (Rom 8:29)

Therefore I exhort you to sharpen your sword.  There is so much more that I want to share about this Psalm... all for other day.

Let me bless you: Lord give us a hunger for You and Your word.  Show us how to apply the promises to our lives and get so good at using our sword that we can set other people free too.   We won't despise the day of small beginnings.  We give you all the glory in advance. Amen!
