Winter Colds & Sickness

We don't have to be sick every winter.  Really,  we don't.   Sometimes we curse ourselves when we speak words like, "I always get sick in the winter." or "I get every cold that comes around."

Sometimes it is words that family or friends have spoken over us that have opened the door for these spirits of sickness to attack us every winter.  This often happens when we are children and don't know not to receive it and the words become a perpetual curse.

So to start, I would break the curse in Jesus' name then start renewing your mind. God has given us authority to bind and loose things. We need to take this privilege seriously.  Whatever we bind on Earth is bound in Heaven and whatever we loose on Earth is loosed in Heaven. (ref. Matt. 16:19)

Thank You Lord that I prosper and I'm in health as my soul prospers. You want me whole and healthy in all seasons. (ref. 3John 2)
Thank You Lord that I am strong in you and my immune system fights off every virus. (ref. Eph. 6:10)
Thank You Lord that I am protected from secondary infections in Jesus name.
Thank you Lord for protecting me from the plague (pneumonia) that tries to attack me. (Psalm 91)

Here's a blog post that's full of good confessions to use to renew your mind.
http://www.greatcommissionhow2s.blogspot.com/2011/10/confessions-for-hospital-patient.html

Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. (ref. Rom. 10:17)  Fear comes by hearing and hearing the word of the devil.  You choose what you listen to and receive in your heart.

Did you know that you believe what you say more than you believe what anybody else says?   Yes it's true.  Therefore you and I need to  line up our words with Heaven and give the angels something to work with.  They hearken to the voice of his word through us.  (ref. Psalm 103:20)

Have fun!
I bless you in Jesus' name!

Growing Up in Faith

There is something that I have seen over and over in the body of Christ that needs to be addressed.  We walk by faith, not by sight. People say 'Amen', but there are whole books that could be written about 'believing', if you know what I mean.

Giving something mental assent is very different from faith that knows.  I can say, "Yes, by his stripes I am healed." but if I run to the medicine cabinet at the first hint of fever or pain then my actions are speaking far louder than my words. Faith makes a stand and commands the enemy to go. Then it rests, expecting the mountains to move.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. (ref. Rom 4:17)  We have to read the word, speak the word and ask Holy Spirit questions about the word.  We have to use the word of God because it's the sword of the Spirit by which we overcome all the attack of the enemy. (ref. Eph 6:10-19, James 4:7)

I have encouraged my family and friends to exalt the word of God as the final say in their lives.   This is easy when things are going well, but it's harder to do when your body is screaming at you.

Initially, baby Christians get healed with no effort at all.  However,  God expects us to grow up and learn to use the weapons of our warfare.  We overcome by the blood of the lamb, by the word of our testimony and we don't love our lives unto death. (ref. Rev 12:11)  He is expecting us to grow up into sons and daughters of God. (ref. Rom 8:19)

I have noticed that God rarely does things the same way twice in a person's life.  He might heal you one way this time,  but that does not mean that he is going to do it the same way all the time.  There are times when you get healed with no effort and times when you really have to stand on the word of God and resist the devil.  Then he flees.

So my thought for the day is learn to walk by faith and not by your feelings, or symptoms.  Exalt the word of God in your life.  God has exalted his word and his name above all things and if He can, then so can we. (ref. Psalm 138:2)

Also, start with that pesky cold that keeps trying to attack you.  Resist it with the word of God and keep practicing till you get the victory.  It is much better to strengthen your faith muscles against a pesky cold than something life threatening like cancer.

Here are some good confessions to get you started.  Ask the Lord and he will give you more that apply to your situation.

Thank You Lord, that by your stripes I am healed. (Is. 53:3-5)
Thank You Lord that Your word has the final say over my life.  Thank You Lord that I exalt your word in every situation. (Psalm 138:2)
Thank You Lord that Your word is greater and stronger than the  medical professional's words over me. (Psalm 138:2)
Thank You Lord that you do not change. (Mal 3:6)
Thank You Lord that you are not a man that you should lie (Num. 23:19)
Thank You Lord that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. (Rom 8:17)
Thank You Lord that I have been given fullness in Christ, (Holy Spirit) who is the head over every power and authority (Col. 2:9-10)
Thank You Lord that freely I have received, so freely I give (healing, deliverance, hope, encouragement) (Matt. 10:8)
Thank You Lord that I resist the devil with my spoken words and he has to flee. (ref. James 4:7)
Thank You Lord that there is no demon, no spell, no curse that is stronger than the word of God and the blood of Jesus. (ref. Col. 2: 15)
Thank You Lord that I am a son/daughter of God. (Rom 8:19)
Thank You Lord that the work you have begun in me you will complete. (Phil. 1:6)
Thank You Lord that healing flows through my hands and words because Holy Spirit is in me. (Col 1:27)

I Bless you as you go today.  Have fun renewing your mind! (Rom 12:1-2)
Big hugs,

Almost There

Learning how to walk tight with Holy Spirit is a learning process. I wish I could say that I have arrived but after twenty plus years, I'm still catching myself once in a while.

Last night I asked Holy Spirit what He wanted to show me and I saw a cave with some rock icicles hanging from the ceiling. It was so dark I didn't want to stay in the vision but Holy Spirit said there was more to see. Trying to focus I noticed a translucent window that begged investigation. I moved over to see a morbid scene; a road leading down into the earth and people behind a partially built wall in the road.

Something was happening! The partially built wall, in the road was hindering the people from going down the road to you know where. I was squeamish at the sights and sounds and I didn't want to be in this vision. I was upset and horrified at what was happening before my eyes and I wanted to scream at the people to run the other way, but they couldn't hear me.

Shaken... I asked Holy Spirit what was the point of showing me this scene? He showed me that the bricks in the wall were parts of christian character, and how a life totally submitted to the Lord, mature, full of Holy Spirit will cause us to be such a witness that many will be turned to Him. In essence, hindering people from going to Hell.

Too much you think? I thought it was presumptuous too. So I asked the Lord for more confirmation, after all we are supposed to ask for two or three witnesses before establishing something.

Holy Spirit showed me Col. 2:9-10 and to paraphrase it we have Holy Spirit, which is the fullness of God, in us right now. OR, We've been filled with the fullness of God now... already. Christ means 'the anointed one and His anointing' which is Holy Spirit, the powerhouse of Creation. (Gen.1:2)

Then Holy Spirit brought two more verses to my attention. We are the light of the world (now). (Matt. 5:14) We are the salt of the earth. (Matt. 5:13)
Holy Spirit wants our lives to so shine with God's glory that people are turned from their unbelief to a living faith.

I was thinking about this whole thing yesterday and I was reminded of a time before I was saved. I was on a transit bus and there was a man sitting on the seat over the rear tire. He had white hair, a white shirt and trousers on. His countenance was so lit up that he glowed and I desperately wanted some of what he had. He had nothing naturally to make me attracted to him... yet I could sense goodness, hope, love and laughter around him. I couldn't stop glancing at him from my seat on the back bench of the bus. He seemed oblivious to me, just looking out the window and taking in all the sights. I wish I had had the guts to ask him what made his countenance glow. I am now convinced that he was a Christian full of Holy Spirit. (2Cor. 3:18)

Anyhow, I want to be like that man. As I drive my school bus, or move people may those around me see something of God in me.

God is looking for a few good people, men or women, who will dare to believe His promises. We haven't seen too many people who glowed with the Glory of God yet, but it's coming. I want to sign up for all that God has for me.
How about you?

Sin Doesn't Keep You Out Of Heaven

Did you know that sin doesn't keep you out of heaven? Nope. Jesus has already dealt with the sin "issue" on the Cross. The only thing that can keep you out of heaven is rejecting Jesus. The bible says that He who believes in the Son, (Jesus) has life. He who does not believe in Jesus is condemned already. (John 3:16-18)

Tough stuff eh? Jesus said, "Tell John that the blind see, the cripple walk, the lepers are cleansed and the poor have the gospel preached to them." (Luke 7:22) This was how He proved that He was the Savior of the world. Even today our message is to be with "power" and not just words (1Cor.4:20) That's how you can know that He really is the Savior. No other person, of another faith, healed the sick, or raised the dead or cast out demons. So either Jesus was a big liar or He was telling the truth. Since God backed Him up with all the miracles He did and God backs Christians (with faith) up as we pray for people in His name, you can rest assured that Jesus is who He said He was. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life; no man comes to the Father but by me." (John 14:6)

God delights in giving his children good gifts.(James 1:17) What does a good gift look like to you? Our ideas are so small. Eternal life is a great gift. How about peace? That's a great gift. How about comfort, companionship and wisdom? Those are all great gifts. How about witty inventions and ideas? Those are all found in God too. He's the Creator, after all. The Bible says that God, "wishes above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers." (3John 2)

Do you realize that God loves you? He loves you so much that he sent His son to the earth to die a horrible death so you wouldn't have to pay the penalty for your sins. Dare to believe the Father's love. Dare to ask Him to reveal Himself to you. You can say something like,"God I need to know if you are real. Please show me. Amen, which means,"So be it." Then start reading your bible and asking questions.(leave me a comment)
